Patriots will go without coordinators

so what ur saying is if u go 15-1 in the regular season, and lose the first playoff game, u were not good. but if u go 10-6 and win the wildcard playoff game, but then lose in the divisional, your good?

winning only one game in the playoffs means as much as winning a regular season game.

did i say that? no. When you win 3 superbowls in the span of 4-5 years. and you get a 10 win season and can't win a playoff game somethings wrong. the Patriots were not good. fact is fact. you think they are saying boy was that a great year we had. Jets were 9-7 they were best team out of the AFC East bc they went to the AFC Championship game, while the Patriots were sitting at home. Thats what Im saying. Just like last year, we were 12-4 and the Cardinals were 9-7, they went to the SB. they were better than us. reg season means nothing if you can't win the playoffs. Thats what I mean

I've always had a theory about the Pats. And that is noth that Mr. Stetson or Captain Hoody won them the rings, but Viniateri. They haven't won one without him, and they are are/were a team that is just good enough that a clutch kicker can put them over the top. I mean, if Viniateri doesn't hit a 40+ yarder in the snow, the Raiders might still be a decent franchise. poo, this years playoffs are a perfect example of how things change when your kicker chokes. Hell, if our kicker didn't choke, we may have playeD the first OT Super Bowl.

Ouch! This is gonna put more work on a lot of people in that organization. The work still has to get done. Game planning defense, offense, & special teams, game time evaluation & adjustments. Pity the coaching staff. If they had any time with their families last year, they won't this year. Maybe that's why their offensive adjustments didn't work out so well last year. All just a move to save $$$.

I think its amazing that people can call your team "average" and "not the same as it used to be" the last 2 seasons when you have put up 10 plus wins in each. That just shows you how great of a organization that is.
Well, they certainly can be viewed as one of the five best in the last decade, but go backwards from there and the picture gets more bleak the farther back you go. Aside from their SB appearance in 1985, they sucked for the majority of years until the SB loss to Green Bay in 1997, and then Brady happened. The future doesn't look to rosey for them right now, IMO. All teams go through a rise and fall from prominence (some fail to achieve anything noteworthy at all). Look at the 49ers, they were bottom of the barrel for their entire existence until Walsh got a dynasty going and now they seem to be an also ran again.

it's amazing to read Pats fans try to justify this. Fine, the offense doesn't change from last year, great. But you're saying with that, that O'Brien is doing both jobs despite lacking experience and he wouldn't be better off getting the OC job he's rightly earned and that having an experienced QBs coach to help the offense wouldn't be a good thing?

Similarly, no coordinator at all is better than Dean Pees? You won't let Pepper Johnson leave, but you won't promote him?

the thing is, the Patriots aren't the same anymore. Rodney Harrison, imo, has been replaced. Meriweather is a very good SS. but they haven't replaced Seymour. Wilfork could be on his way out. Adalius Thomas sucks. Mayo is good. their Defense is weak. and Welker will miss a few games next season. Moss is still Moss, but he can be shutdown. the Patriots are beatable, and are no longer scary

And their running game half sucks too.
