Pacers/Knicks interested in Acie Law

Tommy Dee, The Knicks Blog: "A source close to the situation just informed me that two teams have very recently inquired about the availability of Bobcats reserve guard Acie Law(notes) and that 'one of them is definitely New York.' The other team is 'an Eastern Conference team as well.' The source also believes that 'it's pretty clear' Law will be on the move. On the heels of our post about possible moves, to me, the Knicks interest in Law might just mean that a bigger deal is in the works, and as I've said since the Bobcats are trying to make a push, this may mean Jared Jeffries(notes). Obviously, there are complications in terms of matching salaries, and since D.J. Augustin(notes) is a name constantly being thrown out there may just be something brewing here. Maybe getting a third team involved. As we know, the Knicks would have to make roster space in order to match a deal that included Jeffries."

if we can get Jeffries for Acie Law and Graham/Ajinca- pls do

I don't know if Acie will ever learn to shoot but his size as a PG is very hard to find. Not knowing how to shoot hasn't stopped Felton from progressing into a decent PG.

We won't be moving both Acie and DJ at the same time.

I wouldn't be surprised (though upset) to see Acie and Brown moved for a real PF.

Any player that resembles a true inside banger at PF would be a welcome addition to the team. Although I'd hate to give up Derrick Brown for it, as someone mentioned. I wouldn't mind us dealing Ajinca and Law for a decent-good PF that can rebound well. (although it might not work right now because Ajinca is hurt and out for a few weeks, and before the injury was doing well.) I would like to see what he can do with some minutes as well.

I mean it couldn't be much worse the Boris Diaw and his consistency issues right now.

    • Karlaftis and Danna have been pretty inconsistent so teams have been doubling Jones and able to contain their pass rush.   But the good thing is that yesterday, we schemed well against Steve Spags Defense, Canales married the surrounding personnel with his QB through play designs within his comfort zone and was able to get downfield at will.  He was able to execute higher difficulty throws and look a lot more comfortable.  It tells me that Canales has a good system in mind, and had an edge gameplanning wise against Spagnuolo - which is nice to see.  It's a bit to see-saw at times with either going way too pass heavy or way too run heavy, but I think he's finding out what works.  It takes time to have it come together, and sure, I could see regression happen against a better front-7, but this was good for the entire system gelling.
    • This was evident first two weeks of season. I don’t see any issues with physical tools since he came back. I think he is a player that must play with confidence to overcome those size limitations and he’s doing that.
    • Still 3-10 on passes over 15 yards.  At least he's not scared to merely attempt them anymore.  Where I see improvement is the 10-15 yard range.  He was 6-6.  Bryce of old was scatter shot on anything beyond 10 yards and the further out, the worse the accuracy.
