Having an argument on another teams forum

I agree 100%. Most people try to make arguments saying guys like Thomas Jones and Michael Turner are better than guys like D-Lo and CJ. But if you look at YPC, it's quite obvious that it doesn't actually matter how many total yards you have if you can't produce a big YPC number.

If you get 100 more carries than another guy, you're obviously gonna end up with more yards. But it doesn't mean you're more productive.

Yes and no. As a Falcons fan, I would rather have Deangelo than Michael Turner, BUT, Turner is still a top 5 back in the NFL.

If a back has 1,600+ yards but only has a 4.0 average, that is still impressive. Look at Jerome Bettis. Sure HOFer, yet has a career average of 3.9 ypc.

My top5 RB in the NFL are:

1. Chris Johnson

2. Deangelo Williams

3. Adrian Peterson

4. Michael Turner

5. Stephen Jackson

very few RBs can consistently sustain a high ypc with a high amount of carries season after season.

chris johnson had an exceptional season, and williams has yet to carry a significant load to even assume he can sustain a high ypc with 100+ more attempts.

if ypc was such a good indicator, then jamaal charles is god amoung men.

over 1100 yards on 190 attempts, yet no one is talking about him.

Don't know how you figure that. He has had at least 100 carries every year in the league (4 years) and has averaged 5.1 yards per carry for his career. In fact the last 2 years he has averaged over 200 carries and was still over 5 yards a carry.

Arguing on another team's forum? What are we, Saints fans?

You really don't like to give any credit to Williams, do you? I know you're a Stewart fan, like most of us, but you seem to take a little dig at Williams any chance you can get.

i don't take digs at williams. i take digs at the insane comparisons and "facts" that make anything about him sound like a "my daddy is better than yours because blah blah blah..." argument.

Well, and I mean no disrespect here, it seems you'll do all you can to make Stewart sound like the second coming of Gale Sayers, but when anybody doles out similar compliments to Williams you say things like "he hasn't carried a full workload."

It's ironic, of course, because neither has Stewart.

i simply post what he's accomplished. if that makes him look like superman, then so be it. maybe people should try that approach with williams and not try to downgrade other people's accomplishments in order to make him look like the best back in the league.

but when anybody doles out similar compliments to Williams you say things like "he hasn't carried a full workload."

compared to the RBs people are trying to compare him to in this thread, he hasn't...so why automaticly assume he can sustain a high ypc with a comparable number of attempts? i don't see why that's a big issue. it seems like any time someone says anything other than "williams is the ultra superdooper greatest RB that the nfl has ever seen" it is seen as negative.

It's ironic, of course, because neither has Stewart.

funny...no one has mentioned anything about stewart carrying a full load because it's obvious he hasn't...nor has anyone nit picked over stats to compare him to anyone else.

thank God.

for once, i'd like to see a thread dedicated to williams that only has his accomplishments...and not one littered with "would've, could've, should'ves", twisted posts and exaggerated comparisons.
