The best scenario for this team

Lose the remaining games, get the 1st pick of the 2nd round. At this point don't care about giving the #1 pick to the Bears...I'd rather have Fitterrer and Tepper be embarrassed

Clean house, hire a team president from the Ravens, Steelers, or Eagles

Let the team president do all the hiring

Trade the #33 pick to a QB needy team for multiple picks, including a next year's first if possible

Give Bryce one more year, and if he doesn't show improvement then decide to move on in 2025 with cleaner cap sheet and first round pick(s)

Its a long and sucky journey, yes, but Charlotte fans are used to long and sucky journeys, hell I've waited 20 years for the freaking Bobcats/Hornets

Ah yes, Bryce is whiffing blocks and running slow and bad routes. Last game, when Bryce put the ball in Mingo’s hands on second down, it was Bryce who dropped the pass for him because Mingo didn’t feel “unlocked” enough to catch that pass. And it was obviously Bryce who made the OL whiff on their blocking assignments and the RB run backwards on first down to lose yards. Then it was Bryce’s fault the OL false started on the subsequent 3rd down. So clearly when Bryce is forced into a 3rd and 18 behind an OL that can’t pass protect with slow WRs that can’t separate, he should be a miracle worker as a rookie QB. And he should do that over and over again every game just to salvage some semblance of an average offense. This is all very realistic.

Offense looked a whole lot better in Seattle with Andy

…just a fluke right …

This is obviously ridiculous but hear me out..... What about trading Bryce in the off-season for whatever we could get to a QB needy team that believes they could develop him and using what we get and our second to try to get as high as we can and draft one of the QB's from this year in the draft?

Yep I know absolutely ridiculous but why the hell not say it just for fun

If you think about it, our linemen are better at run blocking than pass protection. Our passing game is about 4 yards per completion because none of our wide receivers can create separation and our quarterback, well... you know.  Perhaps we ought to play to our strengths and run the old Single Wing.  Get some big bruising backs, run the ball all the time and we might get a series of first downs and maybe even a touchdown. (You remember those, right?) If not, we use our All Pro punter or our reasonably reliable placekicker.  Yes, we'd be predictable, but aren't we predictable now? Run, 4 yard completion, sack, punt or Pick 6.  And think of the money we'd save. Young’s fully guaranteed $37.9 million contract includes a $24.6 million signing bonus. You could buy a lot of bruising backs and pulling guards for that.  And, there aren't that many decent quarterbacks around. For every Joe Burrow there's a Jake Browning. Or an Aidan O’Connell, or a TIm Boyle, or a Tommy DeVito, or a Desmond Ritter.  Haven't we tried Matt Lytle, Taylor Heinicke, Randy Fasani, Brian St. Pierre, Will Grier, and fan favorite Jimmy Clausen? Maybe an offense without a high-priced, underachieving quarterback would be an improvement.

You're only saying this because we drafted Bryce Young. We'd all be excited as hell about the future if we'd drafted CJ Stroud. Hell, even Richardson. We'd still be saying we probably should've drafted Stroud and we'd have serious concerns about Richardson's durability moving forward but he showed plenty to he excited about.

I don't have an issue with the decision to go all in to try to get a QB. It's rare that there are both #1 overall worthy QBs available AND the #1 overall pick is available. We just drafted the worst of the options.

Richardson was an even more dink and dunk guy than Bryce. That with the durability makes me pretty glad we didn't go that route. It doesn't matter, all of them would have massively failed here. They all have way better situations and coaching staffs that understand successful NFL football.

Also all of them got to pick their own staff instead of having a "All Star Staff" put together for them.

This cope that it's everything else other than Bryce has to stop. Go watch the Seahawks game again if you don't believe me. Bryce is a HUGE part of what is wrong with our offense.

I rewatched it earlier this week and my God what a difference.  The defense had to respect Andy’s arm and it opened everything up.

That stadium was rocking.  The receivers were getting open and Andy was throwing rockets. He took a beating, but looked like he loved every second of it.

I want so badly for Bryce to be our dude, but we’ll never be able to surround him with enough 1st and 2nd round talent for him to succeed.

Clearly what I’m saying has gone over your head. Whether equating “immediate pressure up the middle” to simply “pressure”, or thinking I was making any sort of comment about the Car/Hou game as a whole, or continuing to think about Bryce existing only in the context of this offense directly after I said it is moronic to do so. This is the problem, we can’t have a normal discussion because of idiotic takes like he doesn’t have talent, he can’t throw the ball 20yds, Stroud would look just as good in this offense, we would be happy with Richardson who may never throw right again, etc. Keep telling people to “cope” instead of having an actual conversation. And the complete lack of awareness to sit there on a high horse and try to talk about people who just want to be right. Pot meet kettle.

This is some funny poo. Or maybe just poo.

This is what you guys have to offer. Number One Rule, never risk acknowledging criticism. Ignore his obvious shortcomings when people point them out. Do not engage on those points because you can’t win them. And keep ignoring while you craft your backup plan to blame everyone else when he has no answer for the speed and physicality of the game at this level.

It really is pretty foolproof as a propaganda (or opinion shaping tool if you prefer). Spread the idea that Young WAS gonna be great but the idiots in charge ruined him before he could show us. I gotta hand it to him, that is about as slick as it gets.

As if it were a foregone conclusion that would go unchallenged. It does do pretty well.

Simply ignore them and parrot an “expert”, and proceed with the strategy which is attack the person that points out Bryce Young’s flaws; that person is subject to ridicule and this thread right here, is prime example.

Oh Bryce is absolutely a bust, he's already proven that he's never going to be elite, even with a better team around him, league average QB is his absolute peak potential, and that's if EVERYTHING goes perfectly right for him the rest of his career, which let's be real, seems a low probability anyways.  And I don't even think it's about giving him a 2nd season given the investment, it's that there isn't a logical way we can replace him after this season with a long term option.

If we had our 1st rounder, I'm taking a new QB and shipping Bryce out for literally anything anyone would offer up for him, but we don't and you're not going to get a sure thing at QB in the 2nd or 3rd round, even in a good QB class.

Honestly, if we had a better team, I'd be fine just benching him and going with Dalton or a FA at QB next year, but starting Bryce is our worst option, which in turn means it's our best chance at being in position to draft his replacement in 2025 by starting him and losing.

Very well said. At best, Bryce will be a competent game manager. He doesn’t have any elite traits. You don’t win championships with league average game managers unless you have elite talent everywhere else around him. Bryce is smart but being smart doesn’t get the ball 40 yards downfield on a rope. Tepper and this front office are a joke.

Nobody is trading for the first pick of the second round to take a QB and the certainly aren’t giving up a future first to do so.

Sure, that first pick of the second round gets a lot of trade interest since the format changed as there’s like 20 hours for teams to drool at that first round graded player who fell to the 2nd.

But if you’re trading up to take a QB, especially if you’re willing to give up a future first to do so, you’re trading for the last pick or two of the first round instead so you get the 5th year option on the contract.

I mean, it's easy to say after the fact. Stroud's development from the one Georgia game appears to have kept blooming. But, I fully understand what the OP is saying, and I do not think it's all that arguable. This year's crop of QBs is the motherload (no disrespect to Stroud). We should've been more strategic and gambled when we more likely to strike the target, and this was discussed on the Huddle at the time. If we'd have been more thoughtful, there would have likely been no need to give up so much draft capital and D.J. Moore, plus we would've had another quality starter in Carter. Tepper has no patience; he just wants to win now (and by "now" I mean "now" as in all the time any time). We were set up with an opportunity to be thoughtful and strategic about short and long term goals, but apparently sh¡t our pants.

A top 10 pick?   Just don’t see it.

I said he looks like a potential top 10 pick yesterday. I don't think he will be. I expect him to probably go somewhere in the mid-late firsts. There are questions whether or not he can carry an offense, even at the college level. Michigan is very much a run first offense. More like a '90s style throwback NFL offense.
