he has been listed as emergency 3rd qb every game this season so he was dressed and on the sideline every game but only available if Jake & McCown were injured.

I wouldn't think it is anything other than pure seniority right now. Regardless if Moore has more experience with the team, McCown has more experience period. He knows which throws to make and which not to, well they hope he does.

McCown has been a proven backup who can step in and the fall off hasn't been too great.

There is nothing wrong with Moore developing, if that is in fact what they are doing. I hope they are making a huge effort to groom him, he has some of the things that aren't easily taught going for him as it is, just needs some polishing.

When he couldnt quite figure out how to kneel with the ball... LoL. I am sure a healthy moore in the offseason will get the number 2 spot.

I like both Moore and McCown

McCown has been around longer and therefore can probably read defenses better

Talent wise there is not much difference...neither is Great...just good

They just kept two proven guys in case Delhomme goes down. They only had one in '07 who they thought was proven and when HE went down it was time to call up 44 year old Vinnie Testaverde. I don't think the Panthers wanted to be in that situation again.

They'll have a whole training camp to battle it out...I guess we are more familiar with Moore since he has won a couple of games for us.

Why isn't Matt the bandaid? He is not a rookie anymore, has game experience, and more time in the Panthers system by 1 year.

Wasn't he supposed to get better? Having gone through full mini camp, training camp, he didn't play better in the preseason against subpar talent.

i don't think either will be gone next year.

mccown had been on fox's radar for quite some time and grabbed him first chance he could. mccown has a ton of potential. i used to say that mccown is the backup while moore is getting groomed. that may still be the case but i would feel good with either one.
