I dont think David Carr syndrome is even real.   You gotta go back 20 years to find a an example of some supposed good QB being ruined by pressure?

Nah.  David Carr was just never very good and he had some bad habits get solidified over time.  No different than Sam Darnold.  Put Sam Darnold in the best situation and he’s not having any different of a career.  He just can’t see the field.

We’re not ruining Bryce Young.  He’s just not very good.

Is Sam Darnold not an example?

We have a tendency to be a bit oversensitive to this fake syndrome because of what Ron did to Cam.

Is the o-line bad? Sure, and they eventually caved into oblivion by the 4th quarter, but there's been time and plenty of clean pockets happening.  Also, some of the rushed instances, there's maneuverability in the pocket that's not being taken advantage of.  Bryce is somehow operating Brock Osweiler at times.

Bryce can't play under center. This is a failure from ownership to the coaching staff. I won't even blame Fitterer because it's become apparent that Tepper organized the trade, pushed to draft Young, and hired Reich.

Young is short. You can't run exclusively out of the shotgun in the NFL and win. That is, in part, Bryce's fault. No need to feel bad for him he's such a hyper processor and so much like Patrick Mahomes or Chris Paul that he should be able to dish the rock to anyone from any Arm angle, right?

SEC! SEC! Just like the NFL, I hears.

Morons.

But we can run that college offense for him! Then everybody will see that the SEC IS too as good (or some such typically illogical poo).

That is what the offseason and next season will be all about. College offense. College QB. That’s the scuttlebutt: college offense will help Bryce.

It’ll be great!

    • If you think Smith's hating on McMillian or tall recievers you didn't watch the video. He may have been guilty of that in the past but he says outright that his problem is people see a tall reciever and tend to overlook everything else about him. He was complimentary and believes the guy will pan out. His only real criticism was comparing Tetairoa to himself actually, saying like he felt like he took plays off when he wasn't the primary target.
    • I loved this draft. I think we have 3 starters out our first three picks. Maybe they take a year to develop but I don’t see them taking long.    I think Etiene is going to be a good back up. He’s only 20 so he has a lot to improve on.  I think we will see him be used on special teams this year. He won’t get many reps unless an injury happens because we got two 1,000 yard rb in front of him. I could see Ransom starting but I think he will probably be a back up, maybe playing special teams? I think hes probably got the lowest ceiling of all our drafted players. Cam Jackson will be a back up, probably not a lot of snaps this year. Could end up being a solid player for us.   I love the Mitchell Evans pick. He’s got potential to be our top TE. He had two different injuries that set him back in college but I think if he was healthy he would have been one of the top TE in the draft. I have even more faith in him because ND makes great tight ends. I don’t know if he will play much this year unless an injury happens though. Probably just a blocking TE this year.
