Not getting serious consideration from one of the 31 other opportunities.

Forgot about that part.

I can't imagine anyone honestly picking to come here over anywhere else at this point.

Honestly I would be ok with that, I can’t think of a coaching hire where the candidate has been picky has worked out. That’s what worries me about Ben Johnson, you’re getting hired to fix something 9 times out of 10…it’s the business get over it.

It makes absolutely zero sense to let Reich go during the season.  None.  There is nothing to be gained.  None of the candidates who we might want to talk to are available.

If you're cleaning house, it does make some sense to show Fitts the door.  You can start that search now, you can take your time and do it right.  Maybe even hire consultants and get out of the way if you're Tepper.

Then when it's time to hire a coach, you have a new GM in place and can bring in other consultants to help the GM bring in the new HC.

Still of the opinion that it's too soon on either front, but there's always a difference between what should happen and what could.

Hell, Adrian Wilson hasn't even been here long enough to have an impact yet. Who knows if a new GM keeps him (or Morgan for that matter).

If Tepper is honest about his meddling in the interview process I don't blame folks for noping out. You might only get one shot. Don't wanna blow it where you don't feel like you won't have much of a chance to succeed.

I tell you, something has been off from the start seems like preseason they saw that stuff was really broken because they just shut things down.

We haven’t seen an offense. What is there that someone actually designed?

What was the concept? That’s my first question. Please tell me what the concept is. I only see them call a play that is a little patty cake 5 yard throw, so we don’t have to run an ambitious play.

It makes no sense but that makes as much sense as anything they have done.

After all that, what I think is that things got away from Reich with this consensus let everybody design and call plays or whatever.

It smacks of some committee approach, when nothing ever works.

I think Frank said enough I am doing it my way. Could be an interesting few games.

I appreciate his honesty with his staff. I'd rather know there's a good chance I'm getting poo canned than being told yeah, we suck but ownership believes in our vision and we're gonna be fine... then get poo canned.

Honestly, when you are 1-8 after an interim coach led the same team minus the #1 overall pick to a 6-6 record and people are saying we were better under Matt Rhule, you shouldn’t need anyone else to tell you you are on the hot seat. We’ve seen nothing vision wise that looks good and we’ve traded away so many top picks that we’re basically in purgatory for a couple more years.

And it ain't gonna change until Tepper realizes the problem is in the mirror.

Yeah, that preseason doesn’t matter BS that some of the posters in here were trying to feed us while we watched just miserable play, turned out to just be our new offense. It ended up being that huge bright neon road sign that a lot of us were worried it was.

We know he's got a rep around the league (apparently deserved) and on top of that, we're not in a good situation to attract the best candidates next year. That alone might be a reason to pause on a huge reset.

OF course, that may not matter.

It doesn’t matter that much, or shouldn’t have. Normally, we’d have seen why they weren’t showing it within a couple of games.

I was banking onthe “no film” we can steal a win or two early. Ha ha at me.

The only chance we have is to franchise Burns and flip him for 2 firsts.  Even if you assume he's our best player, we aren't 1.5 years away.  We're two.  If we don't flip Burns, we're even farther.

First, he’s got to recognize the poo we have in place is not going to cut it. Then he can look in the mirror and realize he needs and expert to get us the right people. Fitterer has strip mined this roster and made so many franchise changing mistakes that it would be hard to have ruined the team more by trying to ruin the team. Reich has us as the 29th ranked scoring offense. The only teams we are better than are the two NY teams who lost their starting QBs for the year and the Mac Jones led Patriots. There’s a problem when you #1 overall pick is already in a bucket with Zach Wilson, Tommy Devitto or whatever his name is and Mac Jones.

I don’t think we will ever get the Rams value so Fitterer will not make that trade. It makes him look terrible. He already screwed up by thinking SF wouldn’t get better with CMC and lose 20 picks of value in each round and by turning down pick 15 for Moore and instead just throwing him in on Young. It’s not an exaggeration to say we basically gave CMC and Moore away and didn’t make the trade that was a franchise changer.

That’s what we were told. I thought it was bunk because we were losing 1 on 1 matchups badly as well.

    • The other draft picks have turned out pretty well. Brooks will too.
    • I'm still not touching Hunter He again said the other day that he plans on playing both sides of the ball in the NFL.  If he is allowed to do that, he won't be as good on either side as his potential and he's going to have serious injury issues and have a short career.  If he's not allowed to do it, I think he's going to become a problem when the team isn't winning as he's going to feel him not being used on both sides of the ball is why. He's being coddled in that environment with Deion and I think it's doing a disservice to him to prepare him for life in the NFL where your coach isn't a 2nd father to you, to where you can just walk into his locker room and steal his shoes like Hunter does to Deion.
    • He’s a tad behind them. Around 15ish of 32 starters in the league. He’s well ahead of a lot of guys. Tua, Bryce, Cousins (present), Rodgers (current), Devito/Jones, Minshew, Russ (current), Watson, Smith, Carr, T Laws deep ball is weak as poo IMO, there’s plenty. And it’s not like everyone is ripping 60+ers. The key component is if you can rip and maintain velocity of the 30-40 yarders which he does super well. Legit every report out there from Brugler to PFF to PFN document him as good/above average arm strength.  Eye test tells me it’s pretty much that as well, slightly above average.
