Fallout: New Vegas

My patience with this game is running thin. If you're playing on PC save a LOT, not just quick saves, but full saves. It's inevitable that the game will crash and every time you try to load up your previous save it crashes again.

I finally got to play for a few hours this past weekend...

In that short amount of time, I had a run-in with some miner town when they caught me dressed as a Powder Ganger... It didn't end pretty for me, since I was in hardcore mode...

Overall, it felt a lot like Fallout 3, and I can see me being completely immersed/addicted in due time...

Oddly enough there was a patch yesterday and all my saves work fine now.

There are plenty of little bugs though. After I killed a head fiend I was supposed to turn in his helmet to the NCR but it wasn't removed from my inventory and I can't drop it because it's a quest item. I'm seeing a good bit of little annoying stuff like that.

i hate that shiat. bethesda always has those little tiny things that if you don't handle the bugs correctly they end up being game breaking. At least the pc version gets patched, the console versions are usually left to rot.

/gosh i sure am enjoying dragon age.

Well I just finished my first play through. I took my time, was level 26 or so, had about 50K caps, had Cass and ED-E as companions, and had to work around a bunch of bugs. My main skills were guns, lockpick, science, survival(sniper rifles and anti-material guns are kill ass) using combat armor. At a couple points i didn't think I'd be able to finish from the bugs but i was able to get through it(i.e. at one point i was randomly locked out of the strip, had to stealth kill a securitron for the key). Possible spoilers below.

I chose to side with the NCR but was unable to finish with them as a final quest was bugged. I couldn't do a quest to protect the visiting president - the only dialog option with the quest guy was 'goodbye'. Thankfully I had also killed Mr House and had Yes man in control of the lucky 38 so I went that route. I had full rep with the Boomers, Omertas, The Kings and Freeside, wiped out the Brotherhood of Steel and White glove people. Through the final sequence I routed all power to the fort and had the full securitron army. The ending was climatic but somewhat unsatisfying.

All in all it's a pretty good game. It could be great if they fixed the loads of bugs. But at least it has some good replay value. I think I'll go melee, laser weapons, power armor next go through and side with Brotherhood of Steel and the Legion.
