Fallout: New Vegas

I played a good bit this weekend after losing my initial save from formating my computer. Overall it's fun but there's nothing that really sticks out. It's just an extension of FO3 with some gameplay tweaks and a lesser storyline. Certain things just seem unpolished, like karma meaning nothing. If it means nothing then why is it in the game? I am seeing technical issues, had a saved game crash every time I opened the pipboy, the game slows down really bad over time, etc.

So while I think the game is pretty good, if you haven't gotten it yet I wouldn't recommend getting it. Maybe pick it up when the price goes down or you just want something to play around with.

defiantly a must have, i started playing it right after the midnight launch, about 30 hours logged into it and it still feels like I've barely played at all. and loving the weapon mods, anyone know if the sniper rifle has any mods too it?

I loved Fallout 3. One of my favorite games I have ever played. The best part about it (to me at least) was the story. Since I loved Fallout 3, I love this game. A new story (though admittedly not as good as 3) has kept me thoroughly entertained. A game doesn't have to be substantially different from a previous game I absolutely loved to enjoy it.

Those of you that say this is a must have. Did you play FO3 as well? What about this game is so much better and different than FO3? Do you not feel like you're playing the same game with some minor tweaks?

I played FO3 for probably a total of 150-200 hours or something like that through 3 or 4 different characters. I probably put in 500 hours on Elder scrolls 3 through a 4 or 5 year period and probably dropped 200 hours into Oblivion over 5-6 characters and a 3 year time span.

Currently I've played FOnv for about 25 hours and it feels different enough that its enjoyable and loads of fun while some of the minor tweaks were fantastic additions that add some needed fun to weapons/. While I find that the game might not be as big, I think it feels more populated then FO3 did. While the main storyline might not be as strong as 3 was, the added weapons, the setting, weapon mods, and more populated area makes it feel more alive to me as a game. I loved FO3 and its one of my favorite RPG's of the last 5 years.

FOnV does a lot of things well and a few things great making it a great - spectacular RPG experience that while not as strong as FO3 overall, NV deffinitely has its moments and is deffinitely worth owning for any fan of the FO series or RPGS/shooters in general IMO.

So... I STILL haven't put my disc in...

Looks like I might be able to this weekend... finally...

I'm thinking of going Hardcore mode on the hardest difficulty... just to test my post apocalyptic survival skills in a more realistic simulation... ;)

I'm shunning you until Fallout has been played. :dita:
