It was a good game by Dalton, but I mean his average YPA was meh (just like Young's).  We put up 27 points which is our highest but Young put up 24 and 21 his last two games before Brown took over play calling in half the amount of attempts.  I get that points are points but you are talking about a 3 point swing from Young's best game.  I'd rather keep letting the rookie get reps to see if he can get better or not.  A couple extra wins with Dalton doesn't do much for us.  Plus Dalton had some good games last year with NO and some stinkers.  It's kind of where he is at now in his career.

You seriously throwing Minnesota and Miami in there acting like Bryce was the reason we scored those points? Bryce had like half a good quarter because the Miami defense was asleep (not to mention the run game was actually effective for once and forced the defense to have to be wary of it) and then did nothing the rest of the game. In the Vikings game, we had a pick 6 that was over half of the points we scored in the game + Bryce had a terrible fumble that gave the Vikings a TD. The defense (14) almost outscored the offense (20) in those 2 games. I promise you if Bryce was starting @ Seattle, we lose that game by easily 3+ TDs (and honestly probably by like 30) with how awful the defense was in the game.

Meanwhile, Dalton threw for almost 400 yards (without Corbett even being healthy) with Andy Dalton almost being our leading rusher that game and our defense giving up what felt like a billion yards. If the Seattle RZ offense weren't poo that game, we are talking about them scoring 50 to 60 points against us...

I don't see how Dalton's game is anything like the Vikings and Dolphins game, outside of our defense actually scoring points for us...

If you want to keep giving Bryce reps because we feel like that will somehow magically make him better in the future, fine. Saying there was only a small drop off in offense between Bryce's last 2 games with Reice calling plays and Dalton's is just beyond stupid...

Edit:  And I mixed up the Vikings game with the Lions game. We literally had 7 points against the Detroit starters and were getting beat so badly they had their 3rd string in by the 4th Q... So sure, if we are proud of Bryce beating up on a 3rd string defense and getting 14 points in the 4th, I guess we should be happy

at this point this is just rearranging furniture on the Titanic

I hope and pray Dallas curb stomps us 77-3 and we are a total joke on TV and the stadium is all Cowboys fans. Maybe then Mr. Hedgefund and his Head Scout will see how colossal of a fug up this is and clean house and hire a president of football

So if Bryce averages 6.2 YPA, is that pretty good?

Perhaps Frank is protecting Brown by doing this.

I actually thought that too. Could be falling on the sword knowing Sunday is gonna be a bloodbath.

Not sure, though I've said before I think it's possible Brown wasn't ready to be an OC yet.

I'm talking about the overall passing attack looking a lot more viable.l, not specific stats. Though the specific stats I'd point to for leading to the overall passing attack looking a lot more viable is that we actually threw the ball downfield with some success.

We were too one dimensional (probably because Seattle's secondary was banged up) to sustain any kind of success.  Throwing the ball 58 times for 27 points and a loss isn't ideal for any team much less a QB that is over the hill...

Yeah, but it lets us know if it is more of a Bryce problem as to why we only have 1 win or if it truly is 100% on the Oline and receivers. If Dalton were to play the rest of the year and go 3-5 or 4-4, I think that speaks to it being more of a Bryce problem

Which is the reason why brycels dont want Dalton anywhere near the field. If dalton outperforms again it will be that much harder to defend him.
