I'm still not sold on Ryan Day. He has a massive talent advantage in 98% of his games, and in the 2% he doesn't, he almost always loses.

It was a QB discrepancy today. I can't knock Day for much in that game. Michigan's QB was just a lot better. McCord isn't good. He's just throwing to the best WR corps this side of the NFL and honestly it's a steep dropoff to #2. FSU is probably #2 but everyone would take OSU's over theirs with zero hesitation.

Bama is struggling against a team that cannot throw the ball. Like at all.

They're down 14-10 and Auburn's QB is 2-6 for 20 yards. Auburn threw zero passes on their two TD drives.

The Iron Bowl in Jordan-Hare is always crazy, crazy in the sense that a bad Auburn team can hang with a better Bama. If this is the Bama team that shows up for the SECCG, Georgia will roll (they may anyway).

    • Same... With the personnel the Niners had, that defense could have been historically good in the right hands. Under Wilks they were certainly good, they didn't quite rise to that level. Honestly, I see Wilks kinda like I see Rivera: fantastic person, decent head coach. Skill wise, phenomenal DB coach, so-so DC. His greatest strength is his leadership. Hard to find many better in that department. In the Xs and Os / execution area though, not as good. Bottom Line: Wilks is the sort of coach that needs a staff that excels in those aspects of the game where he's weaker. But, like Rivera, I don't know that he scouts assistants very well. That as much as anything might be why he's not in the NFL now.
    • Clearly the best outcome for us is a Giants W. A spot or two difference in the 4th round is inconsequential. Just look at the trade value charts. A spot or two at the top of the 1st means a LOT. A spot or two in the mid-rounds? Virtually nothing.
    • Agree. I don't think I have ever heard him say anything positive, at any time, about the Panthers. Best expectation is no mention at all.
