I think Reich is capable of producing good offenses with the right personnel, but the mark of a good to great head coach is being able to adapt and adjust to the talent that you do have.  And it is big red flag if you either can't or are unwilling.

Sean McVay is a good example of this, going from Goff/Gurley to Stafford/random RBs.  Completely different skill-sets yet you see him able to get contributions from so many different guys. KOC in Minnesota too, creating more plays to take advantage of Dobbs' mobility, which he couldn't do with Cousins.

Can't be that.  Hubbard would have to be that guy and Foreman-equse he is not.  Even if you are not a power run team, you still need that back in your tool bag.  That's the reason first down sucks, we don't have a tackle breaking, pile pushing RB.  Again, Hubbard is taking on that role, but that's not who he is.

I agree with the premise, but a rookie QB adds a lot of variables, most of which negatively impact the offense.  Also, those were/are not first year coaching staffs in the examples used.

That is why it is so ironic that first year coaching staffs that have a high draft pick go after a QB, but their fate ultimately lies with that QB development, usually with an unfortunate ending.

This feels like Déjà vu. Frank got fired from the Colts due to his unwillingness to move on from Carson Wentz. Same deal happening here.

Reich had no problem moving on from Carson Wentz. He even apologized to Irsay for not being able to "fix" him.

It was the following year when Irsay started trying to dictate the depth chart that things got testy.

Nor is he a threat to run the ball on designed plays.  I bet the "tush push" isn't even in our playbook.

I came up with the carolina version weeks ago-

Derrick Brown is in the backfield-

Young is at his normal shotgun spot-

balll is snapped to young-

Brown midget tosses him over the LOS for the first down!!

This is our offense

1st down, run up the middle

2nd down throw to the flat

3rd down and long....sack

When we mix it up

1st down...throw to the flat

2nd down run up the middle

3rd and long....sack or throw away

Madden players would do much better

Brother, you got to add at least two penalties on the OL for this to be correct.....

reich didnt have a problem moving on because Irsay told him to get rid of the guy

Irsay didn't tell him to get rid of Wentz. Reich did that on his own.

Irsay told him to bench Matt Ryan and play Ehringer over Nick Foles.

    • A male lion will beat a tiger even though the tiger will have 1/3 more body weight. Male Lions' fight to kill, tigers won't fight.  A male lion will never stop coming, a tiger will quit immediately.  Male Lions exist only to kill.  Tigers are hunters.    Male Lions are absolutely relentless.   Do a deep dive on lions vs. tigers - look specifically for comments by animal trainers from the early 20th century. A lion vs. a bear?  That's a good question.   Bears don't have an off switch either - and they have more natural defenses.  I'd take a grizzly or polar but I don't know about a standard black bear.
