Return of the bubble screens?

"...many different backgrounds and philosophies."

This NEVER works. In anything. You need a leader with a vision, and then surround him with talented people who share his vision and can execute it. 100 different people, no matter how amazing they are individually, are going to create a clusterfug if they're coming in with different philosophies.

When their answer for all of their problems is more bubble screens you should already know how bad their football knowledge really is in reality.

They want to build the Alabama offense but I think they will have trouble finding that level of tallent in the NFL on the other side.

This x 1,000. Too many cooks in the kitchen.

There's nothing wrong with wanting to run a quick passing game; most of today's top offenses are running something similar (KC, Miami, 49ers) but we simply don't have the personnel to run it correctly.

You need quick, agile receivers and RBs to run that kind of offense. We have an aging slot receiver who wasn't particularly fast in his prime, one straight-line speed guy in Chark, and a big possession guy in Mingo.

Not to mention our OL is being forced into a zone blocking scheme that doesn't suit them either.

If the coaching staff is too many cooks in the kitchen, the personnel on offense is that x 100.

Quick passing game vs bibble screens and RPOs? That's not BB's quick passing game. I wish they had that competency but what they are talking about is something much less than what you are talking about.

They actually built the roster in the offseason - new RB, new TE, 3 new WRs.

They didn't get players to fit with Bryce because Bryce wasn't the qb the staff wanted. Don't care how much pr mumbo jumbo the team throws out. It's clear as day that this team wasn't built for young

I'm all for bubble screens and the style of offense we run, if we had the personnel to run it. We don't, everyone can see that, but the coach stubbornly refuses to adapt. When it's to the point that idiots like media talking heads and fans can say "they're running agility based zone blocking with large power linemen" but the coaches keep doing it, there's a major problem.

That seems to be the Panthers curse (or a problem with coaches in general). The Panthers always seem to end up with coaches who have an idea and then sink or swim with the idea, and never adapt to circumstances or things not working.

Add to that the playbook being created by Thomas Brown prior to the draft and finished at the beginning of April.  This playbook does not fit Bryce's game at all.   Yet at the end of April, the decision was made to draft Bryce and he was selected.  If the consensus the entire time was to move up to get Bryce, why didn't the playbook have things that fit his game?  Instead, we get a watered-down version of the playbook.  Hence the same few plays over and over

Years ago Bum Phillips praised Don Shula by saying:

"He can take his and best yours, and he can take yours and beat his". Bum was saying that Shula was able to take what he had and get them most out of them by clever game planning. Sometimes you can be outmatched and still be competitive against a more talented team.

Our offense struggles every week. It doesn't matter HOW GOOD (MIAMI and DETROIT) or HOW BAD (Chicago w/a backup QB) the team is. That comes down to coaching. The scheme we are running have isn't suited for the players on the field.  I don't think the current staff has the creativity to turn this ship around. Our talent may not be great, but there are a lot of coaches (or soon to be coaches) who wouldn't be 1-8 with the our current roster.

The staff had all off-season to build a playbook around the players that they had.  what they did was they created a playback around the players that they needed and that’s a fireable offense.

it’s too many years of football experience on this coaching staff to be this inept.

If this short video (1 minute 5 seconds) has already been posted the I'd like to apologize beforehand. I think what Ian says about our offense speaks volumes about our play design...and receiver talent.

This league and these rules are made for pushing the ball down field, our dumb ass owners drafted a guy whose forte is bubble screens because of his weak arm.

This is an ignorant statement made to support your anti-Bryce bias. Deep passing is down league-wide.

Go watch the Chiefs, Dolphins, 49ers, etc. Most of the top offenses in the league are based on short, quick passing games in one form or another.

Next time try to bother actually knowing something about what you're talking about before you post more of your smart-ass nonsense.
