Peyton Manning/Drew Brees 1A-1B???

if you think Rivers is better than Brees.....put down the crack pipe

Brees is in a super pass happy O that fits his skill set perfectly.

He is not nearly as clutch as Rivers or Manning 1 IMO.

If I were putting together a team today, with todays starters, money, age, injuries, my game plan, it would be between Manning 1 and Rivers...with Brees and Rodgers coming in behind them.

And as for the crack pipe statement, check out the Chargers running game and D overall. Rivers carried that team to a 13-3 record.

Rivers is above average at best...looks like he's winding up a toy when he throws. I know you love him b/c he went to NC St., get your homer glasses off. Still can't believe you'd take this pig over Brady.

You may not agree that he is better than Brees, but you can't dispute that he is top 5. He is MUCH more than 'above average at best'. Just who would you take instead???

Frankly I feel it's

1.Manning

2a.Brady

2b.Brees

2c.Rivers

5a.Schaub

5b.Rodgers

5c.Roethlisberger

Please take off your homer glasses, look at the facts and accept Rivers is a good QB. You may not like him, but his ability is unquestioned. Frankly Rivers had a worse running game and defense this season than Brees had last season, yet somehow they still win games...

if you think Rivers (who has done nothing) is better than a 2 time super bowl champ Big Ben, you are out of your mind

Ummm, I think, but I may be wrong, that Big Ben had a somewhat ridiculous defense when those Super Bowl titles came about.

I love Big Ben as a QB. Had him ranked in a tier just below Rivers. I basically think those 6 (exc Favre as who knows if he is coming back) are very interchangable, but this year Rivers stepped it to the next level.

Superbowls are not the land mark for judging an INDIVIDUALS ability level. That's like saying before this season Drew Brees was an average QB, middle of the pack guy who is only as good as his 8-10 win team.

I can't really see how anyone with half a brain would actually dispute Rivers as an elite QB based on this season (heck the last three hes been just as good). He wins games, gets to the playoffs, puts up gaudy numbers. He was on the borderline of the top performing QB this season, along with Manning and Brees. Please, please, please do not try to dispute that. It really is a fact.

follow very slowly ok.....let us know when Rivers wins the big one. When he wins one in the clutch. All other QB's in the 'elite' status have. When it matters, he doesn't show up. In your words; please please do not try and dispute that. Until he wins 'the big one' he's not an elite qb period.

Bit premature about Brees no?

Ben is not elite. Eli is not elite. Brad Johsnon was not elite. Trent Dilter was not elite.

Marino was elite.

Get the picture yet?

I'm more amazed that he is knocking Rivers down for not winning 'the big one' and then comes close to calling Brees on Manning's level.

Because obviously Brees has won the the big one already. Unless you are counting your chickens before they...

like it or not, multiple SB victories are a rarity for a QB. The one timers like Dilfer, Eli..etc, I agree. But Ben has been there done that.

Down 4, 2:00 to go. Don't know who I'd currently take between Brady and Big Ben. They've proven they can do that in the BIGGEST stage.

It's obvious w/these posts who has and hasn't played competitive sports in their lives.
