My take:

The writers finally got themselves in a corner and tried like hell to wrap it up in six episodes.

Completely disappointed.

The dual reality so soon didn't go over well at the casa. Jacob saying he died and hour earlier. Hmm. That is an interesting take on time at the moment.

It's Lost, it's not the first time they've confused me and they typically make it all work so hopefully they won't let me down.

I like the fact that they did alt timelines. The entire show has been pretty accurate to modern physics with all the time travel stuff(theoretical physics at least). Check out this article - they only stray when it's important to the story telling. Juliet said 'it worked' and it did work, they just don't know it. The only thing is the 3 year difference. The alternate timeline at LAX is in 2007, the timeline on the island is 2010(the flight attendant was one of the people in the temple recognizing them from the plane crash 3 years ago).

Time travel is a horrible story writing crutch.

It's not like Heroes, Terminator or B2TF where they are able to control the time travel and go back and forth to fix things.
