Is this fanbase not suited for a rookie QB?

Heard this statement on the Unnecessary Bluntness YouTube channel.

I personally am starting to agree with this view. We're looking for a rookie to come in and play like a skilled vet or be a rookie like Stroud, who is clearly emerging as a one-of-a-kind, generational rookie QB.

Maybe we should move in a direction as a franchise--sign FA QBs or trade for vet QBs, know what we're getting, and move along with whatever comes with that.

I honestly believe this fanbase would be all over someone like Tannehill or Cousins this off-season. Or just extend Dalton. Then trade Bryce to LA, Atlanta, or Minnesota and let him take be whatever he'll become there.

We’re suited just fine for a rookie QB, we’re just not suited for a garbage QB that’s somehow worse than everyone since and including Cam. We traded our present and future for someone who apparently can’t throw deep and who, despite being touted as an unparalleled analytic mind, makes some of the dumbest turnovers you’ll ever see.

Worst Panther QB since Jeff Lewis

Have you heard of a QB called Cameron Newton

Dude came in setting rookie passing and rushing records, going toe to toe with the likes of Rodgers, and singlehandedly changed the culture of this team

We are ready for a rookie, a good one though, and Bryce has played like absolute garbage , without any hints of greatness

Don’t blame the fans, it’s the owner and GM failing to make sound decisions. Bryce will be fine when he gets some talent around him, but our GM Scott has completely depleted this team. Our best receiver would probably be the 3rd option on most teams.

it’s not Bryce’s fault, but let’s be fair the team had tunnel vision for the QB that has performed the worse out of the big 4.

CollectivelyTepper and Fitz have set this team back and it’s expected  for the fan base to be frustrated about the past 5 years.

Blame the fans because the most cerebral QB to come out of the draft since Luck is playing some of the worst football in the NFL. Fans have a right to be pissed about the product being put on the field.

We're looking for a QB like Stroud? He was right there for the taking but this ownership and FO fuged it up. Bryce put on pounds for the weight in and then didn't participate at the combine next to the other QBs. He needs to be the best unicorn ever drafted to make the price worth it.

Fans don't have unrealistic expectations. As it stands right now, this one of the worst trades in NFL history. We will see if it remains that way. But to blame the fans for this?

Damn...

No

this place would’ve burned down if we had Richardson because he would’ve gotten knocked out week 1 from the punishment.

this place would’ve lost it for the most part when the defense crushed Stroud as Ickey escorted edge rusher to Stroud

We want to win so bad.  And are now the worst team in football with the worst roster in football.

They picked the wrong QB at an embarrassing price, they hired the wrong staff and their rosterbuilding has the same vision that Ray Charles had but it's a fan problem in the end...

There are things in the new NFL that are dead from the old NFL. Fans just being blind simps with open wallets is one that I personally won't miss. Fantasy football, the modern draft experience and everything that goes on in the internet have helped to kill the old ways. Blaming the fans for any of this is focusing on the symptoms and none of the causes. Having it come from another source that helped kill the old NFL is peak irony.

Bryce always looked like a miss but the rest has made that fact so much worse. But the fans...

    • He made some excellent throws but he always has made some excellent throws here and there. I don't know what to think, which is what I was apprehensive about. Is he going to have a decent downfield game? Because okay Legette dropped one, but someone was giving stats prior to the bye or during it where he had two downfield completions and one of them was the jump ball that is just launched and fingers are crossed that our guy comes down with it, and yesterday we saw that again. The Russell Wilson school of downfield passing.  I don't feel like that is sustainable, but at the same time you have to do Something to make the defense understand they have to defend that downfield throws. Like i said, confused.  I guess I'm going to review the game for myself and look closely at his mechanics and stuff because if he actually fixed that stuff it explains the better throws. And that has been my biggest objection, or what I see as the thing that makes or breaks his chances, that unorthodox dropback and tippy toe action and not having his feet set which limits velocity etc etc.
    • The negative Nancy in me (or objective?) says that they had a bye week to prepare for the Chiefs. However, it’s one thing to have a good plan and it’s another to actually execute it. For all the flack he’s received (from me as well), Bryce seemingly has put his head down and worked his tail off and his play is giving me hope. The first 18-game Bryce showed no progression whatsoever. He gets benched, comes back, and has shown steady progress every week he has started. I think I’m starting to see what the Bryce lovers and unconditional defenders were saying all along, and I hope he can show that on a regular basis for the sake of our QB1 position.
    • Yeah, we could still very well end up 4-13 with the 2nd pick.   I think LVR has the inside track for 1, with only a JAX team as a team on docket that could be beatable.
