Bryce Young doesn't have a superprocessor, he is literally costing us games

That's the thing ding ding ding.

Everyone saw first hand, a #1 overall player who elevated a bad OL and bad WR group.  We landed the #1 pick that year for being terrible in 2010.  This year, we traded up claiming we weren't that bad to get a guy to take us far.  It is amazing what territory we're walking into..have to call a spade a spade right now.

Anyone honest with themselves should recognize what we are seeing is nowhere near 1st round caliber, let alone, #1 overall.

As much as I hate it, part of me wants this to be a wake-up call to Tepper and rest of this organization. We’ve been operating as if we’re one player away when anyone with eyes and a modicum of intelligence could see the roster has been full of holes for years now. To expect any rookie QB to elevate this mess is completely delusional.

I feel bad for Bryce. His physical limitations notwithstanding, he had the potential to be a really good QB in a better situation.

He didn’t play well last week. They scored 15.

That’s stupid. He played fantastic last week. He can’t control the coordinator calling 3 straight inside zones on the goal line.

that being said he was all time bad, atrocious this week

Stroud lit up the 5th worst pass defense in the league today and looked fuging meh against our top 10 passing defense.

Bryce had a bad day overall for sure. I was pretty staunchly pro-CJ before the draft but the cards fell how they did and here we are.

Sure, but Bryce hasn't lit up ANYONE. We are thrilled if he gets over 200 yards lol.

Since when is barely throwing for 200 yards, 1 TD, and only scoring 15 points "fantastic"? Holy Sh*t we've seen bad QB for so long that we think that game was a "fantastic" performance lol Bless your heart

If people want to know the difference between a good QB with bad players around him from a bad one, just look at Cam who had Bell, Chandler, and Amini on his line with no good WRs and still could carry the team on his back vs Young who cant and wont and has never shown anything that he could possibly do that.

He didn't do that as a rookie.

Throwing for 400+ yards and setting rookie passing records is what both Cam Newton and now CJ Stroud have done. CJ now holds the record and Stroud is an even more polished passer. We had the chance to draft the next Cam and we said no thanks. There's just no amount of polishing the turd that is the decision we made. We fuged up.

    • I don't mean to make this a mock draft thread particularly,  but every time I do a mock I have been investigating the talent that goes off the board between picks 8 and our low 2nd rounder pick 57. There is a gargantuan amount of talent still left on the board in the top half of the 2nd round every time I do one. Losing our original 2nd round pick to the Bears as the last pick of the Bryce trade stings badly .  I'm particularly looking at elite players like Carson Schwesinger (LB), Luther Burden (WR), Matthew Golden (WR), Maxwell Hairston (CB) , Nick Scourton , Landon Jackson, Donavan Ezeraku (all DEs/OLBs) . The sweet spot in this draft really feels like pick 15 to 40 - ish. This is why the Bears should be making bank with this draft. I don't know how realistic a trade down is from 8, but if we could pick up any teams higher 2nd rounder and still grab their 1st? We'd be cooking with gas man.  Say for example we get Tet McMillan at pick 8, if you wait all the way to 57 you stand the chance of not getting any impact pass rushers in this draft. And I don't think this team can afford that.  I'd personally love for them to take a break from drafting wrs in R1 or R2 (i think we've taken one in the top 2 rounds in the majority of the past few years), and stick to repairing the nfls worse defense in history (in terms of total points against iirc, or was it yards? Also included my most recent mock as an example . Don't put too much into the  late round selections lol
    • How is this supposed to work on college? How are you supposed to recruit with a one year interim coach?
    • You must have researched him to know this--I said I would research him.  And there are trades, etc. during the draft--you really need to know the full board.
