If he signs it then we can simply trade him away to whomever is willing to give up adequate compensation.

Once he signs the tender he loses the ability to manipulate his destination.

But would someone pick him up for $20 million dollars? But he can still have a say where he goes. He would have to agree to a contract and destination.

So if he signs the tender and we cut him before the season starts, is it still guaranteed?

Cant cut him it would be guaranteed unless we work out a new contract before the start of the season.

Options after franchise is sign and trade or sign a long term contract.
