But there is an ocean nearby and there's lots of pawn shops.

I spend time in the area but more Va BEach and Norfolk (NAAFACK)

The biggest metro area in the us without a pro team.

I lived in Virginia Beach, not Yorktown. But if you are willing to drive a little bit, there is plenty of nightlife, just be prepared for guys outnumbering girls 2-1 or more.

But its not a bad area. Lots of good seafood restaurants up and down the chesapeake. Also, there are lots of decent sites to travel to and visit. And if you can get a job, and the area you live in is not dangerous, then take it.

I lived in Williamsburg for five years. Pretty much a retirement community, but there is a college there. About five bars in the entire town. Not far from Newport News (next town over) and Yorktown is right there too.

I would be working near the Newport news/Williamsburg airport so my options would be open to where I could live. Biggest thing I am looking at is convience and quality of life. Havent taken the job yet but that depends on the pay and company.

everytime i go to VA i get a freakin ticket...I need to slow down...arghhh
