NFC South Next Season

True. I think its gonna be close 3 ways again, logic tells me the Saints will probably push for number one, the question I have with the Panthers, is, as you said QB. I think with the way Brees is playing, and if Ryan develops as he should in his third year you guys will need more than just a game manager. I am not saying Moore is not more than just a game manager, but it is, at this point anyway a questionmark. What do you think will happen with Peppers? If he does leave how much do you expect his absence to affect the Defense? Just asking, I always hope you guys do well, I would like our division to be the best in the league and competition only makes all of us better.

It may hurt us the first three weeks or so, but I expect Charles Johnson, Tyler Brayton, and Everette Brown to do well. In CJ's case, I think he will become a very good defensive end and should have a 10 sack season with more snaps. We may bring in another defensive end like Kampman for rotation. Actually, the rotation is the only thing that worries me. You can never have too many pass rushers, just look at the 2007 Giants.

If by consistent, you mean they are consistently getting gashed in the run game and torched in the passing game, then yes I agree completely.

Falcons defense allowed 1 100 rusher in 09. In week 3, on the road, to the Patriots. They were the 10th ranked rush defense. Completely shut down the number one rushing team on the road (The Jets). They struggled early against the pass, but Grimes came on strong late in the year finishing with 6 picks, 4 in 3 games. It all started coming together when rookie CB Chris Owens got the nod to start and Houston got injured.

While this may be true, you have to remember people didn't try to rush on us. They just looked to where Houston lined up and FIRST DOWN. And down the stretch we didn't really play any world burners.

That said, we did play a hard schedule and lets just say the NFL certainly didn't show us any love. TD and Smitty have already broken the curse in the first two years, maybe they can get us to the promised land!

Please, tell me, what is going to make us a bottom team in the South (hell, even the Cellar!) for the next few years?

Oh yeah, our young offensive line will definitely hurt us. Or is it our two young backs who both could arguably be top ten? Oh wait, I know what it is. Our great linebacker corp with Jon Beason, Thomas Davis, and Diggs, two of which are just entering the prime of their careers. Could it be our young secondary which was just ranked top ten in the league? Maybe its Matt Moore who showed incredible potential with his phenomenal deep ball accuracy?

Could it happen? Sure. But so could the Saints falling to the bottom happen. Just ask the Pittsburgh Steelers, New York Giants, Seattle Seahawks, etc. Also, I cannot wait to hear fans who don't know anything about Carolina keep bringing up the loss of Julius Peppers - if he even leaves - and says it will be the main reason Carolina doesn't even finish one or two in the division. When Julius Peppers had a broken hand, we were still applying consistent pressure. Tyler Brayton, Charles Johnson, and Everette Brown are sufficient enough. We could add another pass rusher because you can't have too many, but people need to stop putting all this stock into it. It isn't like Julius Peppers showed up for every game, anyway.

Saints could win the division. Panthers could win the division. Falcons could win the division. Bucc-well, you know what I mean. The division is always a crapshoot and just because you guys have made it to the Super Bowl doesn't mean squat in 2010. Tampa Bay and Carolina fans know that firsthand.

Don't forget D. Brees is one nasty sack from re-injurying the shoulder that gave P. Rivers the QB job in SD. And you scrambling for Aaron Brooks number.

We are solid on Defense, Better on Offense and ready to KICK YOUR ASS. The Saints won't have the Candy ass schedule that you had this season. And you won't sqeak games out your ass like your "Magical 09" season.

Carolina 10-6* Wins Tie Breaker

Saints 10-6

Atlanta 9-7

TB 7-9

BUT i DO BELIEVE YEAR IN AND YEAR OUT THE NFC IS THE TOUGHEST OF ALL DIVISIONS.

Go Panthers

I get what you are saying about us being weak against the pass, but trust me, NYJ tried to establish the run and couldn't. Our DT's improved the second half of the season, as did our penatration from the LBs and DE. We had lots of tackles for losses in the last 6 or 7 weeks of the year.

Babs is one of the best DT is in the league, Peria Jerry was flashing a lot of talent before going down. And I expect us to bring in another LB this off-season to compete with Nicholas and learn from Peterson.

Our safeties may not be total ballhawks (though DeCoud had flashes) They are terrific against the run. As long as Houston doesn't get back in the lineup and we get a better pass rush going, I say we have a top 15-10 defense next season.

I'm going to make a "bold" prediction and say there's no way in hell ATL has a top 15 defense next season.

Well if we are going to make rediculous assumptions on what will happen next year before this year is even over, might as well go all out. I think it is a bit too early to tell. I do think as we stand right now, the Panthers have alot more question marks than the Saints do going into next season. I at least think that most rational fans would agree that automatically putting the Panthers in 1st next year as the OP suggested is slightly more rediculous than my post putting the Saints 1st next year. I never once mentioned dynasty. I am not trying to be a dick, but before I go annointing the Panthers I would like to see what happens to Peppers, and what is done about the QB position.

Brees has been very fortunate to be nearly injury free for several years but the law of averages says it's about time for that to change.

Especially now that he will be entering his 10th NFL season.

in 2010.

Don't take me wrong because i wouldn't wish injury on any player but if this happens the Saints will have a poor season.

As Brees goes,so go the Saints..Need i say more?
