that would make sense....but every plate ive seen, have never been reversed.

I work for a publishing company. The ink would be trasferred to the plate, the plate trasfers the ink to a roller, then another roller, then the paper. That is the easiest way to explain it. There would also be 3 other plates. The Cyan, Magenta, and Black. How did you come across this?
