Peppers: “Anywhere is a potential landing spot.”

What is funny to me is....... you NEVER, never...... hear a word out of this SOB, till it's time to talk about money/contract.

Some may think that is a good thing, but it is also starting to be a very telling thing about him.

Fvck Pep.

...I cant stand to look at him knowing he didnt want to play for us last year. Hell, we could have went 8-8 without his ass... yes, Fvck Pep.

Funny I was saying all these things at the beginning of the year and everyone was hanging on his nuts. Now everyone says the same thing, you guys change every week.

Trading Peppers for highest tender will help this team more than keeping him. Just like last year....sigh

This is my favorite part of the offseason: a flood of "well I was saying this all along smug.gif" pud yanking.

No I really don't do that. Don't care who calls what, anything can happen. But to see idiot fans not minding the panthers paying Peppers 16+ million a year (again) makes me feel like I'm surrounded by idiots. Offseason lately for the panther is best to see what idiot contract move comes up next. This could be it.

Peppers will be a career Panther... end of story...

I really don't think so.

Why would he be awaiting the Panthers move, when the front office has said in the past they'd love to sign him to a long-term deal? And if he wants to be a Panther, then he wouldn't mind receiving the franchise tag and getting paid more for that year to be on a team he wants to be on anyway, right?

Peppers still wants out -- that we haven't heard as much talk from him this year is proof of that.

Pep is and will continue to be a beast on the field for many more years. Hopefully, it's with us. I want him to retire a Panther, but I wont be mad if he leaves. We need him to stay in Carolina. Hopefully, the FO will lock him up long-term.

I cant be upset with what he's saying though. I wasnt upset last year. He's honored his contract and can go where he pleases.

I hope he stays and retires a Panther as well.

Some think "this is telling." I think he was just being vague. A video interview is so much more helpful as you can pick up on physical clues (such as facial expression, tone, etc.) Written interviews are so skewed sometimes... (not saying this one is, though).

The Panthers surived before Julius Peppers.

They will survive, and possibly thrive, without him.

A team, is greater than one man, unless that man is Peyton Manning. Manning, makes average players, and sometimes average coaches, look great, consistently, year in, and year out.

DEs to me don't make the same impact is a great QB.

On that logic, which others may disagree with, while it would be great if Peppers stays, if he doesn't, the NFL world, and the Panthers world continues.

Commas, dude, commas...

You ever been around the dude? I used to see him almost everyday when he lived at the old Summit Grandview. A simple "good morning" might get you a "sup". No more substance than that in there.

Lol. The worst example ever. Please, just... yeah... nevermind I'll leave it alone.

KK, it's ok we see it differently, and don't agree on this. I just think there is nothing hard about being a man, state your intents, needs, wants, etc, instead of them being drug out.

That is the problem I have with the "It's just a bidness" attitude. I even hate the ******* phrase to tell you the truth.

It's ok to disagree, and we'll just have to agree to do that. :cheers2:

But if you state what you want so specifically (it sounds like thats what you want - teams, amount, etc.) then it can hurt you. For example, they might've been willing to offer more money until you said "Hey I want this much!" or the teams you want to play for might not want you and thus any other team might be scared to take you for fear of going through the same process as Carolina has.

I see your point and I agree somewhat, but you are blatantly ignoring that it is business. He's playing it right. Let's say you went to a job interview and stated up front you wanted x amount of vacation days, x amount of pay and you wanted to work in x department, x amount of time. Would you get hired by anyone?

What's the, matter, you don't like getting, your Panthers news, from, William Shatner?

Lmao, nice one.

If we tag him it wont be 16 it will be 20-21 mil. I have no problem with a 5 year deal but Peppers wants to be the highest paid Defensive player in the league. He isnt worth that. What ever happens needs to happen before Free agency begins. Tagging is not a good idea.

Then you don't see my point at all, if you are still comparing it to business. I'm talking about when are men going to go back to men, and stop letting the almighty dollar be the factor maker of it all.

I know...to complicated to understand. Sorry.

And my point is that if you "go back to being a man" in this situation then you won't make a buck and will hurt yourself career-wise and thus financially, hence it comes back to business.

No need to be a smartass.
