Peppers: “Anywhere is a potential landing spot.”

Cant be mad at him for that.Would like him back but not for the 15mil a year some say he wants

Right now, I have no idea what’s going on,” Peppers (left from AP, with DE Brian Orakpo) said, as I hustled to keep up with him. “I don’t even have any information on it.”

I think anywhere is a potential landing spot,” he said. “I don’t have a preference. To be honest with you, I really haven’t thought about what team would be a good fit.”

“I’m just trying to get on a team right now,” Peppers said. “I’m not going to say I want to play for any team. I’m just trying to get a contract.”

I would not give him a long-term contract that averaged 15 million a year. He is not worth that kind of money given his inconsistent play.

He dominates one game and then disappears the next.

I would rather see the Panthers franchise him and pay him $20 million in an uncapped year and then let him walk before the possible lockout, than sign him long-term to that kind of money.

I also cant wait for the possibility for this to happen and Pep bitch about how we "screw him" out of money/commitment for a long term contract for another team. Poor poor Pep.

I think Pep has GOTTEN SMART--

I think anywhere is a potential landing spot,” he said. “I don’t have a preference.

“I’m just trying to get on a team right now,” Peppers said. “I’m not going to say I want to play for any team. I’m just trying to get a contract.”

This gives BOTH him and us the ammo we need to get a #1 draft pick and him a long term contract.

He will be franchised in a couple weeks, and traded before the draft.

Pep learned from his mistakes last season, and with 2 consecutive good years, some dominating performances, and all decade team; Pep knows he will get a deal.

I am not sure that the panthers want to keep him now with how well Everett Brown played in the limited time that he did.

Brown is young and was getting a lot of pressure in his limited playing time near the end of the year.

I dont want us to lose Pep, but with the "i dont know whats going on" talk, it makes me think that the FO already knows what they are going to do, and Pep doesnt have the leverage he once had.

Its evident by the fact we dont see the "i dont want to play in Carolina Anymore, and I will only go to these 4 teams".....

However- if he stays, I wont be mad at all... :D

I tried to tell everyone to read between the lines when he said that the issues of last year weren't an issue at this time.

Peppers hasn't been convinced to stay here because he likes Meeks' defense, as most here have thought. He's just biting his tongue so we don't keep him another year. Last year's potential trade talk really hurt any chance he had of going elsewhere, and he knows it.

What is funny to me is....... you NEVER, never...... hear a word out of this SOB, till it's time to talk about money/contract.

Some may think that is a good thing, but it is also starting to be a very telling thing about him.

Fvck Pep.

I don't know, I like the guy, but this is very telling.

I’m just trying to get a contract.

He may be franchised again, but like last year we can't trade him unless he signs the tender which means we can dump him wherever we want. He won't sign because he doesn't want to end up in Oakland. Period.

I hope Hurney learned from last year, either sign a long term contract for reasonable money with incentives, Franchise Tag him, or just let him walk. But whatever the decision is, do it early so we know what the plan is before the draft. We don't want to wait until July again for the drama to be resolved holding the entire Franchise hostage in the balance.

Peppers is honestly too expensive to keep. He is 30 now and entering the age of physical decline. Signing him to a long term deal would be a mistake for the Panthers. Or did they not learn their lesson with Delhomme? Well you can't really compare the two because Peppers played great this year, but the fact remains he isn't a young buck anymore. If the Panthers knew they had a trade partner for him, then franchise him and trade him. Otherwise, thanks for the memories, you were one of the all-time great Panthers. Too expensive to keep, just my opinion.

REMEMBER-- HE'S "just trying to get a contract" ;)
