Question about the uncapped year...

Recommended Posts

How does the spend-friendly nature of the cappless year affect the prices of tickets, merchandise, concessions, etc.? Prices raise to cover the cost or lower to attract more customers to hopefully pull in more income or no effect at all?

Didn't remember it being brought up in the thread that SLJ started and I'm too lazy to look for it. Someone wanna help a brotha out?

I figure each team is a separate entity based on the economics of the team and community. For the Panthers I figure that management knows what they need to make to be profitable and what the market will bear so they price it accordingly. Ticket prices didn't go up last year so I wouldn't be surprised if they go up a few dollars. With PSLs, they get a full paying stadium regardless so I doubt they go down. I did read that next year they are changing from managing the concessions themselves to using an outside vendor. I understand it is out for bid as we speak. I have no idea whether that will mean higher prices or not.

As far as how our ticker prices compare to other stadiums, we are below. The average in the NFl is $72.20, we are at $63.32. From lowest to highest we are 8th. Buffalo is 1st at $51.24 while New England is last at $117.84

Wonder what made them go to outside vendors. Granted, I will not complain if concession selection improves, especially beer choices.

Probably saves money by farming it out. They can be assured a certain profit without the headaches and expense of running it. Apparently at least half the teams in the league do it.
