The Who backs out of Super Bowl halftime

I would kill myself if they ever let Shinedown or some other bullshit post-grunge band play the Super Bowl halftime show.

BUTT ROCK

i wouldn't label shinedown as post-grunge... while technically they are post grunge (since they happened after the grunge movement) the ACTUAL "post grunge" movement as a category is generally associated with bands like the foo fighters, older weezer stuff, etc... nothing really after the 90's

and i agree, shinedown would be bullshit in the superbowl.

Nickelback, Daughtry or Rob Thomas (Matchbox 20) are about the only decent bands today that are remotely close to the classic rock bands of the 70's and Early 80's.

Music today is about Sex and money. In the 70's music was about art. Bands like Pink Floyd, Boston, Fleetwood Mac, The Who, The Eagles and Bruce Springsteen & E Street Band made music out of passion and art not about the next great beat.

Why do you think Movies and Commericals use classic rock songs. They are undying works of art.

That is why the Who is going to play in the Super Bowl. They are a surefire hit with the majority of fans.

wtf, thats half of Nickelback's songs. and Rob Thomas is mostly pop.

If you're referring to rap you're mostly right but even then there are artists that arent just about that. And there are alot of rock artists today that are passionate, you just got to find them. I see alot of passion in rock bands today, they just dont get the attention because rap and hip-hop rule the planet today. Besides who are you to judge who has passion or not?
