We brought in Peete as a FA. And that was Hurney who did that I believe.

Yeah when we were 1-15 and as irrelevant as ever. You had what? 10,000 fans in the stands in that last home game in 01? LOL. So bringing in Peete that year wasnt the big deal it would be NOW, and even then people bitched about Weinke should be the starter over him even though he absolutely sucked in 01. Wasnt til we started 3-0 in 02 that the bitching subsiding, but the Panthers still did not hesitate to replace Peete quickly. What kind of loyalty did we show Peete for improving our win total that year? He was a stopgap who's sole purpose was to tide us over til we found the QB we really wanted. Aaron Brooks backup who hadnt really done anything up to that point, but he was very marketable here. The rest is history. Rodney Peete was 36 years old, past his prime, and was never offered a long term contract with the intent of being the "future" here. Ask people Peete's memorable plays of 02 and they draw a blank. His time here was forgettable for the most part and he's pretty much been reduced to a token we point to so we dont have to consider bringing in another black QB.

I've gone on record many times as being anti-Delhomme. I would love for McNabb or Garrard to come here. I would take them anyone in our current QB stable in a heartbeat. I don't think Vick is much of an upgrade, that's it. It has nothing to do with his color.

Stick with football and not making things up when discussing black QBs and you won't be labeled as such. Instead whenever you bring up a black QB, you go into race and label the owner and organization as racist when you have no proof. And you look even more dumb when you do that due to the fact we signed Peete and other black QBs as well. Also, whenever you get owned in a Vick thread by someone that brings up his stats, you go to race. You say we dont like him because he's black. No dumbass, we dont like him because he is a poor QB. You are making things up again. I don't remember anyone crying for Weinke or unhappy with Peete. as you say, Rodney Peete was 36 years when he came here and was never a great quarterback to boot. He was veteran guy on the very back end of his career who could help us for one or two years which he did. He wasn't a long term solution and he knew it as well. His career quarterback rating was 73. Give me a break.

You talk in circles. You admit he was 36 and on the back end of his career and then castigate the FO for not showing loyalty with a long term contract. Why would we do that? They gave Delhomme a contract at 34 but he will never see more than 2 years of it which makes him 36. We kept Peete for 3 years until he was almost 39. And who has done more for the franchise, Peete or Delhomme?

Bottom line is you got nothing and you are grasping at straws. With only 4 quarterbacks who have started a whole year for us in our history, one of them was black. Exactly what do you expect??
