Vick will have many suitors

He sells tickets & jerseys because he makes plays and is a good QB. People dont pay good money to see sorry QBing, thats why our stadium was half empty most of this season and our QBs jerseys dont sell very much outside of our market.

If Mike Vick was mexican EVERY TEAM WOULD WANT HIM BECAUSE THAT WOULD BE AWESOME

Dont forget 6-3 against John Fox led defenses,

Oh wow the coveted "winning record against a John Fox led defense" statistic. I don't get the constant allusions to the Panthers, Jake Delhomme, or John Fox the minute that Michael Vick is brought up as if it's some kind of devastating argument. I mean you'd never come across anyone arguing that Jake Delhomme sucks or John Fox is maddeningly inconsistent on this board!

3 pro bowls,

I guess it's true: there are still people out there who consider the Pro Bowl a serious gauge of a player's merit.

a division crown, an NFCG appearance,

Wow what a resume. Two bad there are two other quarterbacks in the division who have twice as many of each of those.

1,000 rushing yards & 20 passing TDs in '06.

Yeah I was here following the 2006 season and I heard the Falcons fans trying to justify their collapse to 7-9 after starting 5-2 that year. Trust me, I've heard that statistic and it's just as meaningless then as it is now.

Vick even managed to throw a TD in the playoffs this year as a 3rd stringer.

Then he balanced his chi by fumbling a handoff later in the game.

Maybe it would work for Jake to go to prison and to be out of the league for two years, then people would only remember his best years from 5 to 6 years ago, and ignore what he did his last two.

Or maybe Jake could learn not to throw to the other teams players all the time or develop 4.3 speed & learn how to elude a pass rush and people would respect him as an NFL caliber QB. Instead of saying he's set the QB position (as well as this organization) back 20 years and calling him Jerry Richardson's son in law.

Vick no longer can run a 4.3 at 30 years old, I guarantee that. His legs are slowly fading, and unfortunately he did not develop the pocket presence that other running QBs did like Randall Cunningham and Steve Young.

He's still fast enough to play out of the wildcat formation (something none of our QBs have the ability to do, so we put in our RB instead) and defenses still account for his speed. There's a reason why teams are looking at this guy. If his speed was done, no one would've took a chance on him last offseason. Writing Vick off at 30 is wishful thinking. Most QBs best seasons come after that age (including our starting QB Jake Delhomme).

Vick's last three years as a starter wree nearly as bad as Jake's work this season.

Interceptions: 12, 13, and 13

Sacks: 46, 33, 45

Fumbles: 16, 11, 9

Comp%: 56%, 55%, 52%

His stats do not support KT's contention that he is a successful passing QB.

If we want a QB that stacks up to those stats, we could just keep Delhomme.

London and Zod have pretty much covered what I was gonnna say.

Some lucky team is gonna nab Vick and have them 1 hell of a QB. And some team is gonna stand pat with what they have and struggle to string together back to back winning seasons.

How many times have Mike Vick led teams had back to back winning seasons?

You guys are wasting your time trying to convince a black person with an avatar that says "the black quarterback" that Vick doesn't walk on water. He is going to support him no matter what despite the facts that show he is over the hill and wasn't that good to begin with. Great athlete, poor quarterback.

Michael Vick will remain popular with the black culture because we all want to see role models that "look like us" particularly in a leadership role like quarterback. He also has a cultural appeal due to his prior thug behavior, prison record, drug allegations, dog fighting, etc. It fits with common themes found in rap and appeals to the anti-authority, "being scapegoated and abused by the system" themes so often used to excuse negative behavior in black society. He has more "street cred" than he did before. And then the ultimate redemption theme and climbing back to the top despite all the troubles. If he comes out saying he was saved while in prison and accepts Christ in his life, he will have hit the holy graille. Everyone loves to forgive a sinner in the name of redemption. And second changes after disasterous consequences plays very strongly in black culture. Emotions not logic rule the day with black society.

Sorry if this sounds like it should go in the tinderbox and it isn't really meant as a negative just an explanation for why many black people hold onto Vick despite everything. If you look at this emotionally rather than logically it makes perfect sense and you can see how his popularity could grow rather than diminish.

I'm dumbfounded that people actually want a shitty dog killing QB leading their team. It has nothing to do with color. If we wanted a bad QB who can run we would figure out a way to draft The Golden Calf of Bristol and actually have GOOD press for it and bible thumpers falling over themselves to come to watch him.

Call me a racist if you want
