So watching ESPN First Take right now. They were interviewing Patriots CB Shawn Springs who is considering retirement and going into a broadcasting career. They asked him how he would stop the two quarterbacks in the super bowl. He said that he would just hope a hurricane came through so that neither team could pass the ball.

Now is it just me or did he just hurt his chances on a broadcasting career. I think its pretty funny but hoping a hurricane comes through to stop the Saints passing attack?, surely everyone behind the scenes were gasping

Because it seems to me, most agree with you. This thread is just pointing out the obvious -- that hoping for a hurricane to slow down Drew Brees is just a poor choice of words.

Yeah my only point was he was on there to showcase his skills because he'd like to do that kind of work one day. So while I don't give a poo anymore when someone asks you to analyze how to stop the Saints and you say slow them down by a hurricane you know someone somewhere is going to get their panties in a bunch. ESPN isn't going to hire someone if they continually make comments that could be controversial, so he got off to a bad start.

I am with all of you. I am over the sympathy card for Katrina. The feel good story they ruined when they lost to the Bears in 06/07 Playoffs. You don't get a DO OVER cause you F'd it up. I am so sick of Katrina and everyone that feels bad for the Saints. You live in hurricane alley expect hurricanes.
