Another Matt Moore Article (Panthers.com)

Nope because I'm not thinking it, I said it so that we both know it's true, since I said it and all.

Ignore him and maybe he will just slink away.

I thank Zod for the "Ignore Button"....the only way to tolerate GMan's ignorant and pathetic ramblings.

Now if you people would stop quoting him in your responses, my life would be total rid of this little rodent known as Gayman.

You said that a week ago. How in the world were you able to respond to my posts today if I was on ignore? Busted! :)

I'd be willing to bet money fox and hurney have never even seen the site before. They have far more on their plate to worry about than what articles are written about their players on panthers.com. The people who run the site are the only ones who worry about that stuff. But I think its hilarious that you really believe that. Lmao

We have a guy on this forum that used to work for the team in exactly the kind of role that's relevant to this discussion. His opinion on this carries quite a bit of authority.

The notion that fox and hurney are going to take time out of their busy schedule scouting college players to tell this writer to make sure you say good things about matt moore is just laughable. Seriously just think about how stupid this theory sounds. Its not crazy at all to think that its jakes job to lose after they invested so much money in him.

Not how it works. Hurney tells Charlie Dayton (organizational mouthpiece) which way the wind is blowing. Charlie Dayton watches over what goes up on the website. Writer can use bells and whistles, but he can't state an opinion on anything unless its the official opinion of the coaching staff. No way this pro-Moore stuff sees the light of day if Delhomme is the starter going into next year.

Like I said marty has too much on his plate to worry about than what's being written on the website. I guarantee he had no imput whatsoever about this article. It will be jakes job to lose come training camp

Day to day, yes. But if something goes up that they don't like, trust me, you hear about it right away. That's why Charlie Dayton is the filter.

From within this thread:

Guys are acting like this would be complicated. It isn't.

All that's necessary is a single e-mail or phone call from Hurney or Fox to David Monroe or Andrew Mason. They say something as simple as "We want to start taking the focus off of Jake Delhomme and moving it toward Matt Moore".

And that's it. Mission accomplished. No one from the coaching staff has to proofread the articles. The staff folks know their jobs.

It's not their job to care about what fans think, at least not when it comes to making decisions. Dispersing info about the team isn't their job. That's up to the site guys.

With that said, it has been mentioned by many - and can be verified by a former employee on here - that team officials (Marty Hurney, Danny Morrison, Charlie Drayton, etc) believe it's very important to keep a certain level of control over their public image, and on information that gets out.

Obviously, they can't fully control what goes in the papers. But on their own site? Absolutely.

If the team had plans to start Delhomme again next season, I can pretty much guarantee you wouldn't be seeing the kinds of things you are now. There'd be a lot more discussion of how good Delhomme has been in the past, a lot of mitigating his bad performances this season, and a general downplaying of how Moore looked at season's end.

I see none of that. Just the opposite.

Also from within this thread...

I think everyone here is just looking for some sort of clue to give them comfort in beleiving that Matt Moore will be handed the starting job next year. Unfortunately that will never happen as long as Fox and Jake are still here. No matter how well Moore played it will still be Jakes job to lose as long as Fox is the HC. Sad but true.

I know for a fact that you are naive enough to believe that this article written by a nobody is some sort of indication that Matt Moore is guaranteed the starting job next year.

I hate to break it to you but the FO and the coaching staff don't pay any attention to what's being written on the website. If fox had any control over this then there would be no articles written about the qbs unless it was all pro jake. We all want to believe that matt moore will be the starter next year. But you guys are really reaching here

Still want to stick by that?

I'll say this, Mr. Scot....I don't think the organization went to Andrew Mason and asked him to pump up Moore. I think Mason went to the organization and said "I'd like to do this" and the organization said "yeah, no harm at this point."

Makes sense. Same result.

The slant is pretty clear, and I`d say it says a lot about where their thinking is right now.
