Another Matt Moore Article (Panthers.com)

I doubt the man that writes these articles knows anymore than we do about the QB situation, which seems to be what you're implying.

yeah I've talked to the guy that handles the radio communications on gameday and I know a cheerleader. They don't know diddly doo doo. But the radio guy does gets the privilege of hearing what John Fox REALLY thinks and it's not "It is what it is"

I contend this is the front office trying to placate their fans again with fluff that will appease most of us into believing that Moore is on the rise. The reason for this is to keep us interested in their product and buying in the offseason, and to ensure we are all looking forward to next season.

Anything past that is a stretch, as I'm pretty sure no one really knows who will be the starter next season until TC. It's marketing and merchandising guys, nothing more, nothing less.

for anyone that would simply pass these off as fluff articles I'd argue that when an organization controls every aspect of the media and only releases what they want us to hear, you can read far more into every single thing that actually gets printed.

On panthers.com no less. Well said Fiz.

Guys are acting like this would be complicated. It isn't.

All that's necessary is a single e-mail or phone call from Hurney or Fox to David Monroe or Andrew Mason. They say something as simple as "We want to start taking the focus off of Jake Delhomme and moving it toward Matt Moore".

And that's it. Mission accomplished. No one from the coaching staff has to proofread the articles. The staff folks know their jobs.

Yes, it's possible and it would be that simple. It's just that IMO, from what I've seen following this team, neither Fox or Hurney give a poo about the focus or what fans think. Neither of their job definitions include manipulating the fan base's perceptions. I wouldn't be surprised if Fox or Hurney have never once talked to the staff writer(s) other than to answer the "softballs" they serve up just to get some basic content.

I'm not claiming to be correct, that's just the impression I get about the way this team operates.

and I'm bored

Still seems unlikely to me. If a young quarterback played the last five games of a season and did well, who would you write about? The young quarterback that played well just recently, or the quarterback that played poorly this season and you've been covering for six years?

I don't think there is any insight to be gained in these articles.

It's a fluff article. Every article they've ever written is a fluff article.

it serves as a valuable finger-in-the-air of how the winds are shifting in panthers HQ

Fiz is 100% right
