Mayock's top prospects at each position

Asinine...

It may seem asinine to us now, but Mike Mayock is privy to inside info with every team.. he may know something that we don't. Mike always amazes me in some way each and every year.. He watches tons and tons of film all year long on all the top players. I wouldn't criticize and of his projections, because he has them there for a reason.

put mccoy on nebraska d do you think he would dominate like suh?i dont think he does.

i like ol mike too.very good with prospects and projections.

Actually, I think McCoy really could look better in Bo Pelini's defense.. Bo Pelini made Glenn Dorsey a Top 5 pick and he busted.. I guess you could make the argument that Dorsey is playing out of position in KC. I don't think Suh is a slam dunk, that is all. Pelini DT's scare me.

From what Mayock has said He thinks both are great. He said he thinks McCoy is a better pass rusher and Suh is better against the run.But both still are great players.

Everyone says its a lock that the Rams will take Suh.But they have a lot of money tied up on that Dline

Suh also has had knee issues in the past. That is a major concern for any DT.

And Mayock doesn't just rank players based on talent either. He really looks at how a player can be used, what schemes they can play in, ect. IMO Suh is a DT only in a 4-3 where McCoy could play in a 3-4 as well.

I don't think Mayock is wrong in this case I just disagree with him. I would take Suh but I think what Mayock has said is both of these guys or as close to can't-miss picks as you can get.

Kyle Wilson and Devin McCourty are two corners that would be solid additions if we were to select one of them. Mayock may talk Wilson into the first round, though.

I have said for a while now that Devin McCourty would be a GREAT DB in Meeks system. I think he will remind people of a young Ronde Barber.

    • Hard to evaluate Evro...with the crappy talent.... but measure him to Detroits DC.... he godda go...ur on the clock....
    • I think it's more posturing towards the Bears fan base because he knows Johnson would be a long shot to take the job but it's who the fan base likely wants to pair with Williams. It's his way of making it look like they're turning him down as opposed to him turning them down. I think he'll consider the Jags and Patriots because of their QB situation, but I said it in a thread the other day, I very well could see him stay in Detroit for one last season to try and get hired by whoever has the #1 pick next year so he gets Manning as his QB.
    • You're not noticing though. Stroud had 6 career games in 2023 including 1 in the playoffs. He's fallen back to a level that's still above Young's best with 2 career games in 2024 with 300+ and a playoff game to come. He has 8 sub-200 games. He has 2 division titles with a 27.8% GWD success rate. Young had 2 career games in 2023 and 2 more in 2024. He has a 21.4% GWD success rate. He has one 300+ game to his name and 17 sub-200 games. Stroud had to slump to get to a level higher than Young. Young had to improve to get to a level lower than Stroud. Young has some catching up to do for him to be at Stroud's lowest point. Excuses need to stop about Young's supporting crew too. He has Hubbard, Thielen, Coker, J.Sanders and XL as his top 5 targets. The top 5 targets are 80% of a passing offense. Who do you think is holding Young back? Who are you replacing? In 2024, Stroud's top 5 targets have a 67.3% catch rate and a 52.9% success rate. Young's top 5 targets have a 72.3% catch rate and a 48.7% success rate. Hubbard is the one bringing down the passing success rate. Outside of Hubbard v Mixon after the catch, The Panthers have the better receiving unit. We're to believe the excuse that the skill position players and playcalling are holding back Young? #noticebetter
