the only thing that sucks is thinking about all the saints fans who have died who never got to see this day. :(

Yeah, cuz no other team has had any fans die before their team has gotten to the big game.

Edit: I just read the thread, but I had to say something, because I thought it was a silly thing to say.

I agree about the fans who died before seeing this day. I'm thinking of my dad. Even when he had late stage Alzheimers, he would still ask me how the Saints were doing.

I bet you can count Sam Mills as among those smiling down from heaven last night.

We needed miracles to win and we got them. Those miracles came from somewhere. :)

As far as dirty play. Saints are known for it. I remember a couple of years ago Scott Fugita dove at Steve Smith legs clearly trying to injure him. The Saints are classless and was trying to injure an Icon just so they could get to the Big game.

Did you really believe the Vikings had a chance. Just like the Cowboys the Saints were the darlings of the NFL this year. Muggings and No calls and phantom interfere calls WTF did you expect.

Actually, you can. That's why the 'pass was uncatchable' rule exists. Plus, at best it was incidental contact. That was a complete BS call, as was the catch that clearly touched the ground shortly after it. The Vikings stopped the Saints twice on that drive.

Congrats to the Saints, it was an ugly win but a win none the less.

How ironic would it be for a Manning to beat the Saints in the SB?

I agree, very ironic. But my montra now is "Mannings: 1 down, 1 to go" since we beat the Giants this season and now face the colts.

Grats on getting no personal fouls called when there should have, about 10 times. Thomas getting that first down was questionable, you can't get forward progress when you don't even have the ball in your hands. Also, the Meachum catch was NOT a catch.

You could argue that if Favre didn't take 15 cheap shots during the game he could have been more poised later on to make those throws (instead of limping around all over the place). So yes, you won, but you won by being a cheating team of thugs, so good game. I hope Payton (classy) stomps all over your pathetic team. NFL should be embarrassed after that game.

I am happy though, maybe NOW, FINALLLLLLLLLLLLLY we can stop hearing about katrina. Maybe now that they get their super bowl, the NFL can stfu and hand them that to make the Cinderella story complete. Chances are though, no one down there was smart enough to realize that living in a city that's below sea level is a bad idea.

Saint J apparently doesn't know football well enough to have a rational discussion about the horrible calls in the overtime drive.

Oh well, the Vikings had their chance and blew it. Now we have to sit around for two weeks while espn raves about how awesome New Orleans is and how the Saints saved them from doom. Awesome.
