Donte Stallworth anyone?

If you've ever looked or read the details of the case you'd realize that a completely somber person would've probably hit the man too because he walked out into traffic right in front of him. There was basically nothing Donte could've done. That's the reason he didn't get a tougher sentence, because there was basically nothing he could've done.

exactly, and thats whats make me upset at people like coxc that think just because someones BAC was at .08 that everything in the world is their fault. But 10 bucks says they dont have a problem texting while driving which is killing FAR more people than drunk driving is, including my cousin.

Read the facts on the case, crazy dude walks into the middle of traffic on the drop of the hat, i dont see how stallworth's BAC has anything to do with homie getting hit or not.

....regardless, Donate was STILL Drinking and Driving..he put everybodys life, including his own in harms way that night, and nobody can say with 100% certainty that had he been sober if he could have avoided it....either way, I still don't want him on the team...a training camp invite? sure..a contract, and roster spot...hell no

And I'm sure you've never made a mistake?

He doesn't have a history of making boneheaded decisions. No body is perfect. Everyone makes mistakes. He paid his debt to society. He is entitled to second chance.

of course I've made mistakes, but I'm saying people need to stop defending him. He was in the wrong, for drinking and driving that night...and I agree he does deserve a second chance, and for the record I think the year suspension was a bit tough, but that doesn't mean WE have to give him that chance. If you would have asked this 2 years ago, I would have probably said no. I never thought he was that great of a WR, and now, with the layoff, there are probably a billion other guys that are better than him.

Yea Stallworth paid the price, the price tag the family gave him. He wasn't sentenced to prison like Vick was, I don't want a dog killer on this team none the less a murderer. Money shouldn't be able to replace a persons life, or a dogs life at that. Vick served his time Stallworth wasn't sentenced so who got off easier??? Stallworth should be behind bars right now. On that note hell no to him coming here...Id prefer to pick up Dante Hall if we were going for a receiver with speed.

There's a big difference between murder and manslaughter, a BIG difference.

He was careless and stupid, but he didn't murder anyone.

Bring him in and see what he's got. You people and these issues. I want a title! This is football. He handled his situation and did what was required. I dont condone drinking and driving but this is about football! Im sick of everyone bitching about Vick and now Stallworth because of off field incidences. They served their respective sentences and now its back to football. Im sure there are ppl out there who wouldnt like Smitty cause he beats up team mates but thats never debated on here! Its called forgiveness! Learn it and lets make this team better for a Super Bowl run next season!

I haven't seen Stallworth play, but if that's the case.. then no f'ing thanks. I want a receiver who can catch a ball. Want an example of a receiver with speed but horrible hands? here.

for every big play he might make, he f**ks up 5 others.

He dropped passes from Tom-fuging-Brady, and was hardly ever used in New England, which is notorious for utilizing players with their ability.

If any of the posters that commented back on my post, was drinking and driving and killed a man, they would be serving jail time of 25 to life. But Stallworth had the money to keep the family quiet which is fuged up, he should be behind bars. He doesnt deserve a second chance for any team. He might not of had the intentions of killing that man, but regardless he was drunk and shoulda called a cab. And as I recall the law says that pedestrians always have the right away, yall make it seem like the man was intentionally trying to commit suicide...how naive some people can be

wow lets all just make a humongous deal about this. i'd be willing to bet at least half the posters on this board have gotten behind the wheel of a vehicle with at least a buzz. if some dumbass coincidentally popped into the street in front of you, i bet you'd be pissed if someone said you didn't deserve a second chance at your job.

as for his receiving abilities, i haven't analyzed him enough to make an educated analysis, but hell, bring him into camp at least. low risk/high reward

On his payoff or whatever you want to call it. I seriously doubt that if Stallworth's BAC was the cause of this accident the judge would have allowed a payoff. There had to be circumstances that allowed this. That really is NONE of our business.

As far as a player is concerned. WE need WR help and he is a solid 750+ yd per season receiver. (2004-2007 only full seasons of play) IMO with the potential for more. For the value we could probably have him for it would be worth bring him in.

GO Panthers
