whoever our next GM is has to find some talent with our remaining mid round to late draft picks. they don't all have to be starters, at the very least stay on the roster for more than 1 season and at the minimum provide depth and special team play.

how many of our 3-7 round picks in the last few drafts are still on the team after one season and/or are healthy scratches each week

At least we have some cap space to spend for a change.  I wouldn't be against extended YGM for cheap if he is willing.  He has shown some potential this year. Both Woods and Bell being gone stings definitely.  Our CBs outside of Horn are mostly practice squad players (Hill might be a good cheap extension/resign).  I feel like we signed a bunch of rentals this year intentionally knowing we will have some space in 2024.  I mean we are the only winless team right now, and there isn't many players we really need to bring back.

Troy Hill has looked solid for what he's being paid. Making 1.2Million, maybe he'll comeback for one more year for 3million. Javon Kinlaw wont be too expensive and I doubt the 49ers can afford him with everyone else on their roster for D-line. Whoever we take in the 2nd has to be a day 1 starter at this point. Can't be a project.

Can’t tell you how much grief I got for saying our depth is poor, even before our most of our offensive weapons confirmed our worst fears (only Theilen has exceeded).

We gave up a 2nd, 4th and 6th for Darnold, a 5th for Mayfield, a 3rd for CJ, a 3rd and 4th for Corral, 3rd and 4th for DJ Johnson, and DJ Moore, 2 2nds and 2 firsts for Young. All those picks were traded/used in the last 3 drafts.

That’s 2 day 1 picks, 6, yes 6, day 2 picks and 5 day 3 picks in 3 off-seasons with Fitterer and not one of the players we got can be labeled as above average.

Throw in the fact that we used CMC’s picks for Young and DJ Johnson and it’s easy to see how we created a massive talent hole.

2017 was our last good draft where we got more than 1 impact player, not just an Ian Thomas starter player. We’ve traded away 2 drafts worth of picks in the past 3 off-seasons.

Both Bell and Woods are under contract. No idea why this guy keeps making threads while leaving out a bunch of stuff

Didn’t add them because they’re about the only position group with more than 1 starter from this year will still be under contract.  
And not sure how 1 position group on the team is “a lot of stuff”
