I'm as unhappy as anyone with the Panthers right now. Trust me, they are horrid.

But I still believe Bryce will develop into a solid starting QB for many seasons.

If you have watched a lot of football, it isn't hard to see that Bryce is a NFL caliber starting QB. Give him weapons and a legitimate coach and I suspect he will shine, much like Tua.

Bryce has the talent to develop into a very solid QB for years to come. Changing coaches and playcallers every year + having a bad o-line may turn him into a "Darnold" or worse yet a "David Carr" faster than he has a chance to develop properly.

Hold on, that doesn't fit the narrative from social media, therefore, it's a deep fake put in place by the NFL/Bryce defenders with the goal of ensuring that parts of the Panthers fan base continue to attack each other instead of....anything???

Jokes aside  - people keep saying there are a lot of smart people in the Carolina front office and coaching staff.  Not just Panthers reporters and media talking morons - but even other vets and retired players.

Is Evero a bad DC?  No.  His resume is pretty darn good, and he interviewed for a Head Coaching job here and else where this past off season.  Chances are he's trying to make chicken salad with chicken poo.  The thing is, you could do this for a lot of the Carolina staff and FO people (Dan Morgan, Samir Suleiman, and Cole Spencer).  There are lots of people who a great many people have said are smart and good.

So EITHER: the media is lying to use and we need to march on NFL HQ!

OR

The Matt Rhule years really fugged up a LOT of things.  Everyone is working hard to fix it, but things just aren't there yet.  Personally - I think there are too many cooks in the kitchen.  The problem with bringing in too many high level people is that sometimes they don't listen and work well together.

That's not an excuse for being winless in the NFL.  Guys can be some of the best people in the world, and still fail.  If things don't get better, folks will get fired.  Not because they aren't great at their jobs, but because they can't help this team work better.

I apologize if I'm being too nuanced, too rational, or too positive.  For those of you who feel that way: burn it all down, trade everyone, and sell the team to Sir Purr!

    • We could easily pick apart yesterday’s game: dropped passes, blown coverages, bad tackling and red zone issues to name a few. But it was clear that this wasn’t the same team from earlier in the season. They fought back and hung with the champs until the end. That’s what I was excited to see and it gives me hope that we’re on the right track.
    • I think BY played well today and exceeded expectations. I will temper future expectations as he has to string together many games of consistent quality. One game doesn’t convince me that he is a franchise QB or even a guy you want to stick with for another season. One game doesn’t erase all the negative play and limitations from the past couple of years. I hope he balls out and continues to get better but for me the verdict is still out   That said, I think he gave the team and fans hope yesterday which is a lot more than what we had when we woke up Sunday morning.
    • He was vastly improved today and we need to see more of Bryce the rest of the season to continue evaluate him in order to decide what the heck to do with him at the end of the season. He must play at least like this and improve more from here the rest of the season in order for me to keep him. No more 123 yard passing games and want to see at least this output weekly from him. If this is Bruce improving slowly over time then Canales is even better with developing QB's than I thought he was but still too early to tell and we need to see him the rest of the way as he has at very least earned back the starting gig moving forward.
