Spotting goals is never a good thing.  That 1st period killed us.

2nd and 3rd were better, maybe a little more Chatty and less TDA?

Orlov had an assist and still managed to be a -5 in game where the opponent scored 6 goals… that’s a feat in and of itself.

Ok I missed last nights game. How did burns have 25 minutes? Why was Orlov a -5 but TDA only a -3? How did the top three forward lines give up 2 goals a piece? Holy poo how did orlov give up a -5 with only 15 minutes? 
 

We need chatty in instead of TDA don’t we?

I’d sit Orlov before TDA, he flat out gave up on one play and left Raanta out to dry. His compete level needs to be higher. At least TDA is competing, albeit not particularly well.

Bottom line is Chatfield shouldn’t ever sit again.

I mean it sounds like just reading the box score and stats we completely fugged our transition game/line changes. I mean really how does burns have 25 minutes but Slavin just have a cool 19:19? Burns should NOT be having 25 minute games. We need him fresh down the stretch.

Think Burns’ extra minutes came from the PP but yeah the transition game was terrible. I remember multiple 2 on 1’s and 3 on 2’s for the Ducks. I also think we lost too many board battles.

Also Raanta had one, arguably two softy’s. Need our tenders to be better.

On the plus side, Turbo is back to being Turbo, of course it’s in a contract year.

I’m hoping Orlov is just pulling a burns but so far he has not been impressive. It’s clear he needs a defensive defenseman to pair with him to cover his mistakes(ala Dougie). That would be chatty.

Kinda glad I ended up busy last night. Though I am looking forward to getting a chance to analyze if we really sucked that bad. Cause the LA and ducks stat lines have been garbage. We shouldn’t have won the LA game.

We looked bad. Just lower energy than the Ducks. Transition game is still our biggest issue, and getting outworked on top of that absolutely kills you.

I know it's hindsight and would be second-guessed or questioned either way, but I thought pulling Raanta was a mistake.

Canes were buzzing, but turned over a lot of pucks around their blue line, gave up a lot of odd-man rushes and I knew it would be easy to pot an empty netter.
