Need A Gun But Am A First Timer

Hey guys, I was thinking about buying a gun. To Protect myself at my hotel from thieves and hooligans alike. Also to have for show when my daughter becomes a teenager and I need to point it at any and all of her Boyfriends. Yet I am a beginner and will need to go to a shooting range before I bring it back for safekeeping. What is a good gun that packs a good amount of juice, looks flashy, but will not make me bounce off the walls after firing it?

Can't go wrong with a 1911 .45, has worked for years. Colts are too expensive, try Springfield or other make. Best gun for protecting a house however is a shotgun with a short (24 or 26 inch) barrel. Don't have to be a marksman to hit somebody with it, just point and click.

Except your bound to put half a dozen pieces of buckshot through your wall, floor, furniture, etc. and repaint the ceiling after you scrub the pieces of him off it.

I'm not that familiar with a lot of handguns, but I have a lot of experience with the 1911 .45 and its solid, reliable, and will stop someone on the first shot. But I think it may have a little too much kick for what you are looking for, so try a 9mm Baretta and see if you like it - it seems like a good compromise.

    • What are the matchups, stats and superlatives?   I think this will be a hard game. Bucs are a very balanced team on offense:  7th  in total yards per game, 7th in passing, 10th in rushing. Baker is having another career year even better than last year but despite missing his Godwin and Evans. Bucs defense is poor (29th) particularly passing defense, but we’re also depleted in our receiving with Coker and Sanders likely out. Running Chuba is key but their defense is better against the run. (16th) I think this is likely going to require us to score a lot of points to keep up and hopefully the home field advantage tips the scale in our favor. My other concern is our run defense and being able to stop their rookie study Bucky Irving who the Bucs have shifted more carries to recently and he’s averaging 5.4 ypc and knows how to get into the endzone with 5 TDs so far.
    • This is nonsense and you know it. People will be happy when we are consistently and convincingly winning games against good teams. There are people in here talking down to others after losses and barely beating the terrible NY Giants. If you want to strut around here like only you are a real Panthers fan and rage pooing posts because your jimmies are rustled then hey good luck with all that. I hope you have a lovely Thanksgiving.
    • Who had the massive meltdown last year? Hope they feel better this year.
