Very nice...Now if they would come down on the service fee for getting a HDDVR. I dont like having to spend $200 to have them send me a piece of rental equipment...

hmmmmm.......I got mine for free.....maybe it was part of the deal? I signed up about 5 - 6 months ago when they had the free NFL ticket deal.

too bad the fine print reads:

"Please note the DIRECTV Multi-Room HD DVR service is currently in its beta testing phase. During this beta phase, the service will be offered at no charge. Once the service is out of beta and has launched nationally there will be a monthly service fee for the service."

same here. been with them just over 2 months. a buddy has the problem j2 does though. has been with them a while and just got an hdtv. called up directv and they want a ton of money to switch him to HD. paying for the receiver, installation of the HD dish, and a few other things i think.

Uverse>>>everything else

:hurray: :patriot:

Got it last summer and despite them tearing up my yard to lay the cable, I absolutely love it. They have the hd/sd combo solution to watching & scheduling your dvr between rooms. I post pics at flickr to watch on the tv. I'll play the free Yahoo! games they have when I'm really bored. I even periodically watch the fish to see what's new because they're adding channels & having free offers all the time.

DirecTV had wanted lots of $$ when I wanted to go hd despite being with them for 10+ years so I stayed sd until I got Uverse.

Only suckers pay for rental equipment...if you've been a customer for a number of years and pay your bill on time, it shouldn't be too hard to get the equip upgrade for free (though they'll most likely slap a new contract date lasting 2 years, on ya).

Last I saw, it's rumored to be $4/mo. Oh noes, I won't be able to feed my baby!
