P.J. Walker will be Browns' 36th starting quarterback since 1999 - NBC Sports

Imagine if Tepper sold the team to Oklahoma City and then they go on to be a successful franchise.

Everyone on the huddle buys shares to help create the new Carolina Panthers-" @Mr. Scot voted GM " and we still continue to lose. It's not Mr. Scot"s fault, @Zod doesn't like the QB @rayzor wanted...

The GM has to have the authority to build the roster as he sees fit. Then if he fails to obtain the right players to win, you can fire him with good cause.

Our undoing really is a tale of QBs.

We didn't trade up for Justin Herbert and we easily could have done so, and that cost us a decade of success.

We brought in Teddy Bridgewater which was a mistake (stated QB limbo/purgatory).

We brought in Sam Darnold which was a worse mistake than Teddy (continued QB limbo but with lower quality QB and loss of draft picks).

We brought in Baker Mayfield for 5 million, but the least costly QB mistake in the Fitt era, but pointless nonetheless.

We drafted Matt Corral which was a moderately costly mistake in terms of draft capital.

You can't pass on drafting Herbert, who was easily obtainable, and then bring in 4 QBs who are backup quality and then expect anything but misery. No matter who was responsible for the QB decisions, the only outcome was that we were going to get our asses handed to us from 2018 to 2023.

You have to hit on a QB. Marty went Jake, Matt, Pickles, Cam. 2 hits out of 4. Not too bad, and Marty's 1st round picks were fire, like ring of honor Panthers players, and we got Olsen for a steal. Fitt has not hit on a QB excluding Young who is still an unknown at this point. Ultimately Young will decide Fitt's fate, and ours short team as well.

Meanwhile Fitts picks are ring of garbage and glass type players.

Just as a note, Marty Hurney wanted to trade up for Herbert. And that was vetoed by coaches and ownership at the time.

Herbert wouldn’t be able to stay healthy behind this excuse of an OL we have had over the past several years. The situation QBs are in is probably more important than the QB himself. Just look at Baker in Tampa vs Baker here just last year. I will say that Stroud appears to be thriving despite his environment which is very rare.

The only thing separating this franchise currently and the bears/browns/lions pre Dan Campbell is that Tepper has only owned the team for 5 years. Given more time I have no doubt the consistency will continue.

bro... the bears currently own the number 1 and 2 pick and they already have a decentish qb... the future looks as bright as ever.

Tepper is the worst owner in the NFL now that Snyder is gone.

People just don't care enough to discuss the Panthers being bad. We simply don't matter to the Nat'l media.

It's why they only discuss the historical bad franchises like Chicago and Denver. We are literally the worst team in the NFL right now.

If that's true then it would have had to come from Tepper because there is a quote from Rhule that he told Marty he didn't want to stay put with that pick. Rhule tried to get Marty to move and he said that on video and I saw the interview. It could have been a Tepper override.
