Pro Bowl Questions

Say Indy-Vikes in Super Bowl. That's 15 players that have to be replaced on the roster for the Pro Bowl game this year? (am I wrong?)

On top of all the marquee names withdrawing due to "injury", are all the alternates that get to go as 2nd, 3rd, 4th or 5th choices all eligible for contract bonuses for being "Pro Bowl" players?

I was not a big fan of the Pro Bowl in the past but at least it served a purpose in rewarding players who had a good season. I did not think it was possible to make this game more irrelevant, are NFL execs being recruited from NBC?????

I like the fact that it's before the Super Bowl. More people will watch it now. Once the Super Bowl is over, most people don't give a crap about the Pro Bowl. Now, they might tune in. As for the players from the Vikes and Indy not playing...great! The Vikes had too many in the game to begin with. Now just as deserevd players will suit up. Now DeAngelo will see more time if Peterson is off preparing for the big game. As for the ones "pulling out", that's not going to happen every year if they stay with this new format, but I also tend to not believe Brady and Fitz. They're banged up and sore, sure, but I'd bet they just don't want to bother with this game.

I don't like the present format. The probowl used to be a reward for a great season by going to Hawaii on a paid trip and taking family and firends. The game was a not a big deal nor did anyone really care about watching it. It was more about getting picked.

Who cares about going to Miami for a meaningless game played by alternates and guys 4th and 5th on the list. it is alot like the Senior Bowl- many of the top players aren't there either and it is no big deal.
