Possible, but not as believable given that Fitterer by nature is a consensus builder rather than a "run over everybody until they see it my way" type like Matt Rhule.

I keep going back to David Tepper's reaction at their dinner with Bryce Young, when he raved about how young broke down a particular play Reich asked him about. I remember e asked "who does that? Who goes into that much detail?"

Both Reich and Fitterer would likely have been able to site examples of having seen that before, but Tepper acted like it was something that had never been seen.

If there was a single moment that sold Tepper on Young, I think that was it.

I also vaguely remember reading that the S2 thing was a big deal to Tepper.

The move up was made for Bryce. Tepper/FO had plans to be aggressive to get up to 1 long before Reich even got hired and their target was Bryce.

They'd been working to trade up to at least 3 for a while. I think the combine made them comfortable there wasn't only 1 person they'd possibly take, but when they realized the compensation for 1 and 3 was so similar they pulled the trigger on 1.

I don't think Tepper has as much to do with this as some fans think. Definitely signed off on the pick, and probably his preference too, but I don't know why we as fans are trying to absolve Fitterer and Reich here...

Tepper is a meddling owner and has influenced the direction the Panthers are going since 2018. Look at the results. He hired some of the best football minds and still continues to insert his influence which tells me he does not get what the problem is.

It is probably doubtful that Tepper demanded they choose Young, it is very probable that he influenced that they pick him. I think it is very probable that he “influenced” for the trade.

I think Tepper and Nicole heavily influenced the pick by being vocal they liked him. I think that was enough for Frank and Fitt to get them to lean towards picking the player that their boss is happy with as opposed to taking the risk on Stroud and getting fired by Tepp if it doesn’t work out.  It was clear to me from the videos that McCown preferred Stroud but not sure he even had a vote

But if we're talking about Tepper's influence, there's the old saying "My house operates on the principle of one man one vote...and I'm the man."

So feeling sorry for Frank because he got Bryce? Not buying it. Frank has months to create a playbook to maximize Bryce’s skill set and have failed doing so, on top of general coaching blunders. At this point Frank looks like a bad hire.

Frank delegated creating the playbook to Brown who has never been OC before. 

Who designs screens to Ian Thomas?  Seriously. 

I'm not impressed with Brown's play design and I'm not convinced Brown calling plays will fix anything.  Execution has been poor as well, including mind numbing penalties.  That's on coaching. 

Combine that with an average overpaid RB with fumblitis, a LT with a sophomore slump, injuries across the interior and you have 0-5.

I wanted a winning team.  I am sure I am not alone.

I think people are mis judging college recruits.  They look at that shiny new college QB and think, “We must tank and get that shiny QB.”   However, I don’t think they understand the difference between the NCAA and the NFL.

I was a little bit concerned about Bryce Young because he played for a powerful Alabama team.  How much did Bryce contribute to making Alabama, a powerful team.  Alabama was a powerhouse before BY and may still be a powerhouse after BY.

the decision has been made and BY is the QB.  I wish I saw more posts asking, how can we make this work.  However, after just two games, I saw posts which read, “Let’s fire this person, lets loose the rest of the games so we can draft the next star College QB.”   How can you win if you are constantly tearing your favorite team apart?

My pet peeve is, there are tow many people who want to tank an get a perfect draft pick.  1st Tanking is cheating and dishonest.  2nd Any draft pick is not a sure bet.  However, if I was betting, who is the best QB, from that draft class, I would have chosen Bryce Young.

Perhaps the "big QB" thing meant "just not a little guy" as opposed to Cam Newton, Big Ben, or Josh Allen.

I'd say that ~6'2" and 220 isn't necessarily a big QB, but a normal one within an NFL context.

I vocally wanted Stroud from the beginning. Size, athleticism, arm strength/accuracy. But I guess nfl scouts, coaches, and front office know better than me

4-8. But when AR is in there he’s looked like a more confident passer than Bryce. He’s definitely flashed with some incredible wow throws in his short time playing. They should probably run him less going forward considering Moss and Taylor are both good.
