How Ironic......

The Colts Pull their starters against the Jets, basically giving them a free pass into the playoffs, AND giving up ANY CHANCE to go undefeated (which was STOOPID).....

Now they have to play their starters and HOPE they can beat them to make the Super Bowl...

(A little [very little] part of me hopes they get their asses kicked just so they go down as the biggest dumbasses in the NFL)

This folks, is WHY YOU PLAY TO WIN THE GAME....

The Colts little strategy is about to bite them in the ass...

I dont know if the Jets win, but if they do, INDY deserves every little bit of criticism they get...

Just think.... They dont pull their starters and WIN, now they are sitting here undefeated not playing the super hot Jets, on their way to make history and do something thats never been done...

But for some reason, the Colts have a lot of pressure on them... Pressure they brought on themselves....

It would be funnier than crap if it happened. Had Caldwell put Peyton in on that drive up 15-10 and he scores a TD, that may have been game over (and Jets season) right there. I don't think Sanchez could've pulled off 2 long TD drives.

One little benefit of losing that game: it was snowing in Buffalo that Week 17 game. That could've been a recipe for disaster right there.

Yeah, was talking about this early with some friends. Would be so hilarious.

However I don't see it happening. Chargers would have won had their kicker not choked, don't forget that the Colts have the most clutch kicker of all time(is Adam Viniatari playing? I remember him being injured last week but not sure if he'll be back). Colts have Wayne, Clark, Garcon, etc. Revis can't cover everyone =P

Jets won't beat the Colts. I couldn't imagine what the talking heads of sports would be sayin' if Peyton had gone in and gotten hurt on the last game of the season. Fingers crossed; this will be Ultimate QB Bowl, Favre against Manning. Of course, both defenses speak for themselves but it would be a great game IMO if the two were matched up.

I was thinking that same exact thing, remember the Bengals had that chance also. If you have a chance to eliminate a team, do it! Who thinks the NFL needs to look at teams going 100% for 16 games, Steeler fans? I do, the final week or two has become meaningless. Maybe if we added 2 teams, increasing playoffs to 6 teams per conference and no bye's?

If the Colts would have won, the Bengals wouldn't have even needed to think about playing starters. The Colts started this mess that is the Jets. It is their job to finish it. However if the Jets win, their will be a lot less teams in the future who bench their starters against teams they might meet in the playoffs.

    • Corbett knows he needs to take a prove it deal and I think he will.  I watched an interview and he was convincingly adamant he wants to stay.  Two different injuries in two years was bad luck.  It's not like it was the same thing.  He knows the game and figures to end his career in a place where he is happy.  You can't really compare how Bryce did with Mays compared to AC.  AC was hurt week 5.  Bryce was on the bench after week 2 and didn't return until week 8. Mays is basically under team control next year as a RFA.  We could offer the right of first refusal for 3m.  I'd offer a 2 year deal which averages a little higher so you can manipulate the cap on his deal.  Additionally, I'd resign Corbett to a team friendly deal.  Many forget he has positional versatility like BC.  Corbett is only one year older, is two inches shorter, about 10 pounds heavier, and has arms that are one inch longer.  Corbett has played LT in college and guard/center in the NFL.  Ideally, bring back all three, but if BC gets big time $$$ AC and CM can battle for center and the other becomes a swing lineman. If we cut bait on Yosh Nijman we may be able to keep all three.  I'd sign up for that in a heartbeat.
    • As fans, we often exaggerate how bad our team owner is because we are so invested and focused on our team. We don't really see how bad other team owners, like Woody Johnson or Robert Kraft, because we are focused on the Panthers.
