Off the top of my head. From 95 to now.

Rams, Titans, Ravens, Pats, Bucs, Steelers, Colts, Jets/Giants, Vikings(on the table).

(in Andy Rooney voice) Why is that?

Well, the Rams, Titans and Ravens already had new stadiums because they had recently moved to new cities. The Steelers have consistantly reached championship games, that a new stadium coincided with one of them seems like random chance. Besides, if there's a massive conspiracy, how do you explain the Cowboys not reaching a championship game in 14 years, with their new stadium? What about the Jags, they need a stadium?

The key # is 95. SINCE 95.

The transplant teams highlights my point. They HAD to move, or so they said, to "be competitive" to be able to win a SB. Rams were a bolt of lightening with Warner and proved no fluke going again.

As for the Cowboys, they won the 71 SB..the SAME year Texas Stadium opened. But, let's stick to the current events.

Bucs win a SB within 4 yrs of Raymond James stadium.

Eagles go a year after Lincolin Financial opens.

Cards, 3 years after new place.

Seahawks 3 years after Qwest.

Bears 3 years after "new" Soldier. Similar for Packers, 4 yrs after redoing Lambeau.

Ravens 2 yrs after M&T. Played in old Memorial after moving there.

Steelers twice after Heinz. 4 yrs after for the first time.

Pats 4 times since Gillette.

Rams 4 yrs after.

Jags 2 yrs after. Same for Panthers.

The teams who have NOT gone to either Champ game or SB AFTER getting a new stadium.

Broncos-new stadium 2001

Texans-exp team

Browns-exp

Bengals-2000

Lions-2002

80% of nfl stadiums have been built in the past 15 years which coincides with the explosion in revenue the nfl experienced in the mid 90s and in a league full of parity many teams have played in a super bowl during that time frame.

what a mystery!?!?!?!?!

I think you might be missing the point. The teams play the poorhouse card until they get a stadium and typically at or near when the deal happens, a very large % end up either in the Champ game or the SB.

Soldier and Lambeau were updated to generate more revenue were they not?

They didn't do it to get on the cover of SI.

The Vikings and Saints ironically are the only teams to NOT have gotten a new stadium in the last 15 yrs to play in a NFC Champ game.

Chargers and Raiders are the other two.

I just think it's interesting.

what about the lions?

Broncos-new stadium 2001(someone mentioned them playing in 05 Champ Game)

Texans-exp team

Browns-exp

Bengals-2000

Lions-2002

Skins-97

The other 5, are the exception for building a new stad and NOT either making the Champ game or SB at least within a 4 yr window.

Dallas NO new stadium since 71(of course they have one now) and made the champ game AND SB in 95-96.

Again, yes in the last few years more new stadiums. I just think it's intresting how soon teams typically have great success so close to a new venue.
