Matt Moore = 1st Rd Qualifying Offer

One thing that drives me crazy is when people compare quarterbacks. It's stupid. Matt Moore is Matt Moore, he's not Peyton, or Brady Quinn. What does Brady Quinn winning a couple of games at the end of last year have to do with Matt Moore? Absolutely nothing. Based upon his play he's our guy. He saved Fox's job anyway.

Well the thing is the panthers have to decide the direction their going. Is Fox really up to drafting some top 10 talent and then mentoring them? Probably not. This is his last year so really the only options are trading for a nice QB which is very doubtful/expensive or looking at what what we've got and going ahead with Moore does seems the most logical and more importantly the direction Fox would go.

At this point its about getting some competition from the draft and there is still Fox so there might be Jake in the picture, in fact I have a sneaking suspicion the broken finger healing, the excuse that got him out of the game, will get him back in. Jake isn't done that's not him.

I think they should claim Moore starter going in, camp, things can always change but at least Matt has some incentive to work hard.

In some way I am glad the Panthers are the quiet organization they are but it drives me crazy.

Fox doesn't like Moore and you know Fox isn't going to want to face that next season. Fox will want Jake to start and draft or sign a future replacement..........I simply don't see a scenario where Fox puts anyone ahead of Jake on a depth chart.

How you know Fox doesn't like Moore? If he doesn't, he would've put Feeley or even Cantwell in the last few games where Moore was starting instead then. I think JR will have a long talk to Fox about giving Moore more chance. JR isn't stupid, even if he doesn't make some calls we don't like. I'm not worry about Moore, 'cause I'm sure he will be back. We're not going to get rid of him.

I'm never sold on any QB coming out of the draft, too many never live up to their expectations so I'm not sayting to get a quarterback out the draft, and I agree he put up good numbers I said that but his stats were being compared to that of Peyton Manning? Seriously? Having said that, like I mentioned earlier I said hes earned the right to compete in camp for the starting job, but after on 5 games I dont know how everyones sayin he is worth a first round and is so sold on him, I think he still should have to prove himself more than what he has. Look at Brady Quinn he came in and he was performing well towards the end of last year but Browns are probably going to deal him and Anderson away.

Moore didnt step in earlier in the season and rally back in the game for a win, he came in a threw an interception, Delhomme came in when the game was half way of down by 17 and brought us back to win. Moore was put in the same situation and didnt perform on the same level as delhomme did that game.

A. This will never happen.

B. This should never happen.

C. NO!

Thats all in your opinion... for all we know the guys Delhomme was playing with were mentally done and because he has such great leadership he turned them around. I like matt moore, i have nothing against him never said i wanted him to go, I dont think he's worth a first rounder, and I said he derserves a shot at the starting job. Doing good the last five games of the season just doesnt sell him on him, two of the teams had the playoffs locked up, and i know favre stayed in the whole game. But that vikings team and a team at the begining of the season would play at two differnt levels.

I could see Carolina letting someone snag Moore.....Fox doesn't like Moore and you know Fox isn't going to want to face that next season. Fox will want Jake to start and draft or sign a future replacement..........I simply don't see a scenario where Fox puts anyone ahead of Jake on a depth chart.

Again, that was rumored... There are no actual facts to conclude that Fox doesn't like Moore

Look the guy came in and he performed well, but how can everyone be so sold on him after 5 games? He put up some good numbers and I think he deserves a shot next year in training camp. Think back on Derek Anderson... had a pro bowl year a couple years ago, and now look he didnt turn out to be the QB they thought he was. And Peyton Mannings numbers in December? Peyton didnt see alot of playing time remember? Colts benched their starters, Moore and Manning? Come on if you could choose who would you really want?

He also played well in his Rookie year for us.... Thats why we are high on him. He took two Carolina teams that were bad and made them good.

This thread is old but..

Good lord that was 2003 when that happened. Also against the Jags. You can't compare that to how Moore came in.. plus Smitty and Moose was much much younger then with Jake.
