Jets/Panthers trade(Revis) revisited

Obviously Beason has worked out for the Panthers but Revis is also a stud. Who won that trade? I know that the Panthers probably wouldn't have drafted Revis if they stayed at the 13th pick. I think this is one trade that both teams got what they wanted....the Jets wanted a shutdown corner and they got a good one.

Jets traded their 1st rd pick (25th), 2nd rd pick (59th), and 5th rd pick (164th) for the Panthers 1st rd pick (14th) and 6th rd pick (191th).

Revis and Korey Hall for Beason, Ryan Kalil, and Tim Shaw.

Umm... Who's Tim Shaw???

Yep... Been watching these boards for a few years now. Finally make an account and I waste my first post on this frivolous question. lol

Champ is not near the corner he once was. He is at best the 10th best corner.

Charles Woodson had a few years of mediocrity before this season. But granted, Woodson has had an outstanding season.

But, like the OP said, both teams got something that they needed.

IMO, 2 very good players > 1 great player.

I think you mean 1 great player and 1 very good player > 1 great player.

It's not like Beason is some average MLB, he's one of the best in the league. In fact, the only LB that I would say is better than him is Patrick Willis. Those 2 always lead the league #1 and #2 in stats.

I would much rather have Beason & Kalil than Revis, no questions about it.

I agree, but when I say great, I mean potential Hall of Fame material.

I love Beason, hell he is in my sig, but I dont think he is HOF material.

What has Revis done to be seen as HOF material? he's had an outstanding couple years, no doubt about it.. but he's just elite at what he does. Jon Beason is elite at what he does, they're 2 different positions. Revis just gets more publicity because he shuts down big names, Beason isn't assigned to shut down big names, he just goes out there and does his job.

This is coming from someone who thought that Revis deserved DPOY. I think he's an absolutely amazing player, but you can't really compare him to Beason because they don't play the same position.

Revis is the best player on the number 1 Defense. But it doesnt matter, you are right. However, I am super glad to have Beason.
