Carolina needs Michael Vick badly

top dawg

Look at the rage Vick brings out of those posters. They use strong language "ignorant", "racist", "stupid" etc for suggesting a black quarterback. They will neg rep you into oblivion. The thought of having to annoint a young black man makes them angry and want to hurt people.

You are so full of poo sometimes.

Its unlikely that something like that can be fixed with a 30 year old QB. If he was 25 maybe, but he is well into his career, and he is what he is. A QB with great running ability, but suspect passing.

Can't argue that...but we do know that he's been working on it with the eagles.

The idea of "fundamentals" are that they are "fundamental" and thus not "fixable."

See here: "a basic principle, rule, law, or the like, that serves as the groundwork of a system;"

You sort of need those fundamentals to do anything else and again, they are usually not fixable.

Alot of people have fundamental problems in every sport that is fixed or adjusted.

I speak truth. If dudes will invest this much hate into Vick and will rewrite his history they would and could do the same to me or any other young black man too successful or ambitious for their liking. Rooting against and demonizing Vick comes natural to some. Its as easy as tieing your shoes.

Killing dogs does not equate to killing people, though many would perversely disagree.

The point is is that Vick is trying to make amends, but there are those in society who will never give him a chance to redeem himself.

Killing dogs, gambling, trying to bring weed on an airplane in a water bottle, spreading herpes, flipping off the fans, being a "coach killer", all that is irrelavent. Point is, he's not a good quarterback. It's not about race, it's not about crime, it's not about second chances. He's just not a good quarterback. He's fast. But he's inaccurate, makes bad decisions, has had a worse career than Jake, as illustrated in a different thread. Not a good quarterback. Don't know how else to say it.

Race doesn't matter. Vick isn't a good quaterback. Rex Grossman is as white as freshly fallen snow and I don't want him on our team. Don't want Joey Harrington either. I like Matt Moore, because I think he has potential and he's already here(and he doesn't try to sneak his weed on an airplane in a water bottle). I'd be thrilled to have Donovan McNabb as our QB too. I want to see the Panthers win the Super Bowl, I don't care about the skin color of the guys that lead us there. Someday I hope you'll be able to move beyond race-based fandom and enjoy rooting for your hometown team, whoever's under center.

I'm not ready to agree that we "need" him. If he was available I would bring him in to compete for the job, but I wouldn't automatically anoint him as the starting QB.

My biggest concern is that Vick is a 30 year old mobile QB and I think any reasonable person would agree that when Vick loses his mobility it's over.

Ask the Vikings and Giants how bad we "need" Vick...

Ive been supporting bringing in Jason Campbell. I voted yes to getting McNabb if he was available in the other thread. I also wouldnt mind Garrard too if he became available too. The reason is because they are good quarterbacks. So the reason for me saying Vick sucks has nothing to with color. It's because he actually does. And that is the truth unlike anything you have ever spoken of.

You guys remember when the Vick led Falcons styled on us like 80-0 in 2 games that one year? Or, that one game when Vick scored on us at the end of the game, when we had to win to make the playoffs...yeah that was awesome.

I remember. Man, he used to do us dirty.

Vick has always had a good, strong arm. He's still got speed and is fast. All he really needed was a great QB(McNabb) to sit under for a year, and some good coaches(Mora was the worst thing to happen to Vick). There's going to be one lucky team that decides to take on Vick, and I believe the rest of the NFL is going to regret not going after him. He's not going to come to Carolina, for certain(obvious) reasons, and it's a shame too. When I look at Vick, and hear him in interviews now, I see a man that really wants to get another shot at being a starting QB. He's going to get that opportunity. I'm rooting for him.
