Carolina needs Michael Vick badly

Gimmick that is all.

So by your reasoning he should come here as a third stringer too. He doesn't know our offense either. So I am sure we can find a cheaper option for a third stringer.

theres a diffrence when u have an established all timer like mcnabb...mcnabb is and was a franchise qb matt moore....who knows, remember after kolb threw 4 tds most wanted him to be the starter. it was even questioned would mcnabb be brought back next season.

first off if u sign vick in the offseason he has alot of time to learn the offense much more than he did with the eagles.also theres a diffrence when u have an established all timer like mcnabb...mcnabb is and was a franchise qb matt moore....who knows, remember after kolb threw 4 tds most wanted him to be the starter. it was even questioned would mcnabb be brought back next season.

Well, if Jimmy Johnson is a dumb ass when it comes to the NFL, then I'm happy to be a dumb ass with him.

Like I said: All you people think that you know more about football than Jimmy Johnson...Oh, the Smart Asses!

Seek out similar skill sets without the baggage. JR isn't going to compromise his principles. And on top of that, Vick is under contract and we have little to offer.

Nice way to avert direction so you dont have to directly address my post. I know more about the Panthers than Johnson does. He's just another talking head that doesn't do research before speaking.

He's another sheep that looks at Vicks highlights and says "OMGZ THEY NEEED HIM!" without even noticing that even in his limited time he's thrown this year, Vick didn't even complete half his throws.

And if he did his research, he'd notice how poo Vick's completion percentage and QB rate has been his entire career. He'd also notice Vicks number of fumbles. In 2004 he had 16 fumbles, in 2005 he had 11 fumbles, in 2006 he had 9 fumbles. And you remember his fumble in the playoffs last week right? Throw that in with his INTs and incomplete passes, he is a total failure as a QB and RB.

throw that in with his arm, his legs, our line, our threats...what do you get?

A damn good football player on a good football team

If vick Is that great why would the Eagles ever want to let him go? Why he is behind McNaab and Kolb? You want him here to start and he is third string where he is. He is a gimmick now, thats it. He is like the Pet Rock now. Soon he will be out of style and forgotten.

this is easy...His stock is going to grow to the point where he cant be paid by them...he is a luxury to them not a necessity. His trade stock will grow after this season where trading him for picks or players will be more beneficial to their team.

Its not his team, its McNaab's with Kolb as the backup...

It isn't, that's the point. It was just yet another uninformed statement by a analyst that didn't do his research.

Being a analyst he probably has done more research more than you. Plus he's was a great coach. Miami and Cowboys...can't take that away from him.

Those who dwell on numbers is mostly closed mined when you consider them over pure talent.

Your argument sucks.

P.S. JRock start making one post and putting all your points in it instead of posting 12 times in a row. Thanks.

2 problems with this.

1-First off, Michael Vick is black and he plays quarterback. Thats strike one. No black QBs in Carolina, we've already had Peete 7 years ago, no need for anymore.

2-Michael Vick is a very popular player he would instantly make an irrelevant Carolina franchise relevant again. Unfortunately Jerry Richardson wants the Panthers to be as irrelevant as possible. Less expectations, less attention when he makes catastrophic mistakes (extended Delhomme, ditching Polian, etc), harder to maintain the "good ole boy we know you suck but we're gonna stick wit you" atmosphere we have here.

I have no doubt Vick would thrive here and is better than Delhomme and Moore. But he's less marketable than them in this region, and thats more important than winning. Thank god for the Bobcats! Imagine if they said no to a player like Stephen Jackson who's had a checkered past. What they're doing right now would not be happening. Thats the difference between an owner who's willing to take calculated risks to push his franchise forward and an owner who's happy to stand pat just making a profit off a losing team.

Your argument sucks.

Of course it does. The fans know more than JJ.

Perhaps a day will come when people will not be so quick to call names and spread the neg rep at the pure mention of Vick. I thought I'd never see the day when Philly fans are more rational and show more class than Carolina fans. Southern hospitality is a misnomer, and I suppose that the Carolinas should have their Bible Belt cards revoked.
