Carolina needs Michael Vick badly

Ive been supporting bringing in Jason Campbell. I voted yes to getting McNabb if he was available in the other thread. I also wouldnt mind Garrard too if he became available too. The reason is because they are good quarterbacks. So the reason for me saying Vick sucks has nothing to with color. It's because he actually does. And that is the truth unlike anything you have ever spoken of.

What the hell has Jason Campbell or Garrard done that makes them better than Vick? Have either of them ever led their team to the NFC Championship?

By using that logic, Delhomme should stay as starter. He lead us to it 5 years ago, Vick did it 6 years ago for the Falcons. Hey, Aaron Rodgers never has led his team to a NFC Championship either so he must suck.

Point is, Campbell and Garrard are better QBs than Vick.

Look at the rage Vick brings out of those posters. They use strong language "ignorant", "racist", "stupid" etc for suggesting a black quarterback. They will neg rep you into oblivion. The thought of having to annoint a young black man makes them angry and want to hurt people.

we're racist, despite the fact that we're all fans of the nfl, and many here are fans of basketball, which, are predominately black. yep, makes perfect sense.

newsflash: Even if Vick were to come here and be successful, people won't suddenly start drafting black qbs for no reason. I mean really... scouts will choose who they think the best QB is on the board. Yes, most may be white, but you dont see me bitching about teams selecting black rbs over white ones. if a black qb doesn't preform up to expectations of his white counterpart, then tough poo. not every black qb is warren moon (and not every white qb is joe montana either).

I don't want a starting QB with a career passer rating of 76. He's a below average passing QB, period. He barely played this year and showed nothing to make me think he's improved as a passer when he did play. Even with Jake's terrible accuracy this year, he had a better completion % than all but one of Vick's seasons. Matt Moore is already a better passer than him and we can find better competition for training camp that comes with far less baggage.

Legally, Americans have had "equal rights" ever since 1954 when the Supreme Court ruled in Brown vs. Board of Education. Fancy that! The implications!

Anyway, this is a place to discuss football, and Jimmy Johnson proclaimed how Vick needs to be in Carolina. Being that he doesn't have any axes to grind and is coming from a point of total objectivity, I thought it was at least worth discussing. The responses are somewhat over the top. If you don't desire the man based on his talent as a pure pocket passer, then I can respect that. All the other reasons are suspect in my opinion, and I am sticking with that.

i think most of the vick haters are to cought up in numbers and ratings. vick wins ball games. while his ratings might read 76.5 or something u gotta look at the touchdowns he accounted for in that gm. u might see just one passing touchdown,u dont see the 2 other on the ground. thats all i care about...how u got the ball in the inzone throwing or scrambling doesnt matter to me. jake at best accounts for 1 or 2 touchdowns agame. u telling me vick cant do that

Yeah, his scoring and wins are overlooked. Moreover, I was reading a piece that said that when you compare Vick's air yards compared to his peers, and also take into account his rushing yardage---that mainly occurred on passing downs---and compare that to the actual passes that other QBs were making, then Vick's effectiveness is not as bad as people try and make it out to be.

I'd take Moore, Campbell or Jackson over Vick any day. I'd love to have any two of them on our roster...as long as our offense was allowed to use them properly. When you run 8 draw plays in a row, it doesn't really matter who the QB is.
