Football Outsiders Final Stats

There are some neat statistics by the mathematicians at footballoutsiders.com. For those that don't really know what they mean, they measure the value a player brings to his team per play over the average player. Other than that I don't know how to explain this stuff.

Deangelo finishes as the best/most valuable RB and Stewart is top 15.

Steve is the fourth most valuable WR

Rhys Lloyd is extremely valuable. We finish as the best kickoff coverage overall and it isn't even close. Sadly the punt coverage is one of the worst.

The big uglies had the #1 power success. This is awesome after such dismal performance last year.

This stuff is interesting for those of us that like numbers. Congrats Panthers, you had a good season. Now let's continue this through the postseason.

and Peterson isnt top 10? i dont know about these "exclusive stats"

Yeah I remember reading some discussion about that. But, remember these stats are value per play. Peterson mixes getting stuffed for a couple plays then breaking a 20+ yard run. Partly because defenses key on him and partly because he looks for the homerun most of the time.
