I saw Jerry Cantrell at Cityfest with STP a week or so after Layne passed. Great show but bittersweet.

Alice in Chains will never be the same without him. They will never be what they once were, in my eyes at least.

That said, the new singer isn't horrible. His voice is a little too monotonous though.

One of my favorite bands of all time. I like the new album too, but you're right, it's just not the same without Layne. On the upside Soundgarden is getting back together and hopefully Timberland won't be producing their new album.

I didn't know that about SG... I'll look for that too. STP is working on their new album now...

I saw STP live a couple of years ago at Verizon Ampitheatre in Charlotte. It was a kick ass show. Scott Weiland was sober enough to remember all the lyrics and fall off the stage and Dan Morgan was sitting about 5 feet away from me.

When was that show? Me and a couple of buds saw them at Verizon in August of 2008 and then again at HOB this past October.
